    His image was always bogus imo. He liked to come across as some smiling nice guy, but he never was.

    Him suing the NHS shattered any remaining illusions for me.

    Having anything like that level of wealth brings with it a serious level of social responsibility imo, and that **** has never demonstrated it. His actions during this crisis have been utterly shameful.

    Rumour has it that he made his initial fortune from selling drugs out of the back of his little music shop
    Tubular Bells made him legitimate and after the first million the second is always easier

    He’s always had balls, determination and some good luck. However, to use a phrase I’ve used myself to peers when called a lucky bastard, I’d say - get it ****ing right - a consistently lucky bastard.

    So I don’t begrudge him his success, I just don’t particularly like who he is, or what I think he is....as I’ve never had a pint with him like. <laugh>

    It's weird how it would become an issue and I guess it just highlights the cultural differences that can affect the virus spread. Here everyone just accepts that they have to wear a mask, they don't complain about having their temperature checked or washing/sanitising their hands before entering buildings/shops. Our 9-year old granddaughter can now even tell me which are the good hand sanitisers by how cool it feels and how quickly it evaporates.

    Howabout if our tiny island was to join with it’s neighbours on the continent, and form part of the world’s largest trading bloc? We might actually have some clout then...

    If Messi signed for Gillingham tomorrow, they still wouldn't make it to the premier league in our lifetime.

    <laugh> We’ll never ****ing know, will we?

    if, on the other hand, Messi signed for Arsenal this summer, we can be pretty sure he’d instantly become a **** Mesut Ozil .

    You mean like they do when they have to enforce the smoking ban in pubs? If landlords can manage a gaff full of pissed up punters who fancy a fag, I'm sure Tesco can coerce a few chavs to hitch up their Burberry scarf for a few minutes.

    As you would well know, I've never had an issue with the Common Market :)

    However, even as 'the world's largest trading bloc' we've allowed China to grow and become pretty dominant, even despite there human right abuses, which the world ignores for the sake of trade. So much so, they can throw threatening comments about now, knowing there will not be much in regards retribution but then again, there never was;

    Authorities dramatically stepped up repression and systematic abuses against the 13 million Turkic Muslims, including Uyghurs and ethnic Kazakhs, in China’s northwestern Xinjiang region. Authorities have carried out mass arbitrary detention, torture, and mistreatment of some of them in various detention facilities, and increasingly imposed pervasive controls on daily life. New regulations in Tibet now criminalize even traditional forms of social action, including community mediation by religious figures. In Hong Kong, a region promised “a high degree of autonomy” under the Sino-British Joint Declaration, the Chinese and Hong Kong governments hastened their efforts in 2018 to undermine people’s rights to free speech and political participation. https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2019/country-chapters/china-and-tibet

    Oh and while on the topic of human rights, I hear that the slave labour in Leicester has been going on for 10 years now, now I don't know if that is true, but that was right under the noses of the EU as well has the UK government. No wonder it's a topic that's been largely ignored on here. While in the same breath we are telling the world, 'Black Lives Matter' - or as Spurly would argue 'Asian Lives Matter' unless you work in a sweat shop.

    But you know bro...Boris and all that stuff <ok>

    Anyone else seen the pictures from the Depp/Heard trial, jeez the state they made of the place, seems like two wild animals with way too much money and no respect for each other or their home, to me.
