That horse of all of them being the bet spoiler is tough to take. Should have just backed the draw blind.

Didn't even look at at the winner there: 11/1 and a G1 and G2 winner last year

Just looked at the Timeform comment

Well called,he did it well there. I don't get as enthused about German form but perhaps it should be respected a bit more.

It certainly wasn't a going day for Elarqam. He had excuses on the trip and ground last time but none today, he just went out, tried to make all and then folded like a concertina.

I had suspected Telecaster might not have beaten much last time out and while he travelled well enough at one stage today he couldn't go on at the business end and was pretty disappointing really. Even dubious stayer Lord Glitters has given him a bit of a thumping into 4th place and on this evidence Telecaster will need to find softer targets.

The way Elarqam and King Of Comedy have run today you would have thought it would have left the race at Telecaster's mercy but the now totally disappointing Regal Reality was the only other horse he managed to beat home. I suspect it might not prove a reliable race moving forward. No discredit to a good winner today but the two at the back of today's field are surely Timeform squiggle material. King Of Comedy in particular took the Greta Garbo approach of wanting to be alone out wide and ran like a scabby donkey. That pair were like a couple of "Ham Shankers" out the back today for sure.

In weather more suited to the Reynoldstown Novices Chase, Enable readily dismisses two vastly inferior Ballydoyle colts.

I'd say she did more on the gallops the other day. Maybe AOB mixed up the bloods and it was Japans that was abnormal..Shocking run..

Well done Archers Road, brilliant! There is nothing wrong with German thoroughbred horseracing and bloodstock at all, and they've won a few Arcs in their time too! Welll noticed btw! <applause>

Digressing, It was just mentioned on ITV by Brough Scott that Enable ran the last quarter in record time for the race. I make that quite a compliment to Ghaiyyan after his brilliant Eclipse win, one of the very best middle-distance racehorses in training currently, but only on good or good-to-firm ground, of course. Enable was not fully fit that day, and going over a distance a bit too short for her. As for Japan, that's twice running he's had his heart broken. Honourable retirement on the cards?

Yes I was about to post that Swanny. Also it was a fast time overall. Considering how slowly they went at the start, that was an incredible time; and she did it with ease. Only 3 runners but nobody can really dis that run. If they do I'll simply ignore it :emoticon-0102-bigsm

PS as well known, I love her

Record for the race? Not sure how they know that given sectionals haven’t been going for long.

WEST WAY NEVER 8/1 York 5:35
Was a drifter yesterday and this morning. Touched at least 11/1 but has steadily come back in and gallops report suggest that son of No Nay never can certainly shift a bit.

Enable pissed up but Sovereign went off too hard and Japan was never really travelling. Hard to say what she actually beat today but the commentator gave it plenty of hype, going from "A horse to a million" to "A horse in 10 million" in the closing stages.

For me, Japan is overrated after a freak win from Crystal Ocean. He shocked me that day but has looked nothing like it since to be honest. He did get close to Enable last time but that race was never going to suit her, given that she was taking on a colt who is a front runner and who had ideal conditions in terms of ground and trip. Enable needs 12F and preferably some cut. She is not a turn of foot horse but a long steady galloping sort who invariably does her best in the closing stages of a truly run 12F race.

That said, I think Enable is the one for the Arc. I backed her before the Eclipse and again in the aftermath. To me she looks better this season than last and I think she will be tough to topple. I'm on at 6/1 and 5/1 but I am not sure that the 5/2 with some firms now is value for winning a three horse affair where the fancied O'Brien runner couldn't beat the stablemate who was clearly there to set the pace.

Paddy Power are still showing on Oddschecker at 9/2 for Enable in the Arc and that seems a standout price now.

I reckon Love beat poor quality horses at Epsom, with her only real rival Frankly Darling completely failing to handle the track. I can't back her for the Arc at 3/1.

I am considering more money on Enable if there is 9/2 to be had.
