All those criticising the government over this would of been the same people screeching their indignation had we allowed thousands of people to return from Spain over the next few weeks and done nothing.
That could well be the criteria used judging by the logic applied by many countries in deciding who can or cant come in re Covid risk.
I just think that everyone is petrified of a second wave as Autumn approaches and governments are doing whatever it takes to try to avoid one. It does lead to confusing actions, but in my opinion that just highlights how difficult this thing is to get right.
And it was rampant when we let thousands of athletico fans in and out. Is Spain's spike in infection any higher than ours?
Spain’s cases per head are about 2.5 times ours for the last two weeks. Strip out Catalonia though and I’d guess it’s a negligible level. Weirdly our deaths per head is 14 times higher.
The government is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't There is no point dragging up what happened or didn't 3 months ago - it is the here and now that matters, and if there is concern about Spain then I don't see that they had any option but to implement the current measures. If they'd waited another few weeks half the country would've slated them for not acting quicker You can't have it both ways
Are you saying we're all poxy? That can't be right. Everybody laughs at how much time we spend washing and preening. Personally I don't understand all these reciprocal arrangements
I'm not arguing about what happened in March mate. Of course those fans shouldn't have been allowed in. I'm saying that the government have made an early, correct decision this time, but they still get criticism. They can't win with some.
People complaining about not locking down in the UK earlier, but then upset that they can no longer go on holiday to a country with a rising number of cases
They may not be the same ones who complained about a late lockdown. I have no issues with this Spain closure. What I do understand is peoples annoyance at the complete mixed messages that have constantly been thrown out and still are! It's been a ****ing farce from start to present. There certainly are plenty of reasons to drag things up that happened 3 months or so ago. We need to drag these issues up to help with the future possibility of a second wave. Maybe they are learning from what they didnt ****ing do the first time around when thousands were dying.
Sadly compounded by cretins who can't think for themselves My new beef is the number of disposable face masks littering the area round my local Tesco. How f*cking difficult is it to take it off and put it in the bin or to take it home with you? There are just too many people who neither care about others or their/our environment.
