I think 'both' are products of their time. The game has evolved as most things do. I can enjoy today's game and still look back with fondness at what the game used to be without wanting to go back there. You can't change the past but you can change the here and now. I had hoped the restart would be a chance to get fees in perspective and go forward tentatively but it looks like the greed is still there and actually an even bigger gap between the haves and have nots is opening with the mega rich clubs unaffected and able to buy who they like while the others are still trying to come to terms with the financial crisis.
Transfer fees and wages were never going down imo. Selling clubs aren't going to take a hit by letting their top players leave cheap. Players arriving aren't going to accept less money when others already at a club are on big chunks of cheese. Buying clubs will still try to outbid each other. Etc... Only difference I see is the total outlay at clubs, not individual transfers.
Premier League Young Player of the Season Nominees: Trent Alexander-Arnold Jack Grealish Mason Greenwood Dean Henderson Anthony Martial Mason Mount Christian Pulisic Marcus Rashford Who gets your vote? - - - - Got to be Trent hasn't it?
It's Trent for me. Tbf I don't watch the others but his contribution to our trophy haul is worthy of recognition.
Yeh i wasn't replying to that as such just that both greleash and martial are hardly ****ing kids. Young player of the year should be 21 and under imo Martial ffs he's 2 years off peak age
I was going to say the same about Martial. Technically he qualifies, but it's a bit of a joke. Personally I think it should really be about young, relative newcomers. Though I know they aren't the criteria as such, once they've been around a bit it doesn't really feel right to me.
Was having same conversation earlier. Should be 21 and under when season starts not 23 and under. either way Trent has to win it. 4 goals, 13 assists and 15 clean sheets i think it was? plus won the 3 trophies, don’t see how you can give it to anyone else.
Looking at the team's left in the CL, I'm gutted we lost to A.Madrid, the standard left isn't as high as usual and I'd be fancying our chances. Man City will never have a better chance!
