I was of the opinion that it was a wind issue that was stopping him finishing races, rather than an un-genuine horse. So with the tongue tie, the flat rating, fitness guaranteed, lack of decent opposition, the ground with a bit of juice all added up to value in my eyes as I could not see what would beat it. I backed it last night as I was out today. I can't believe it went off 2/1 but I suppose opinions make prices..I rarely back Favs but this was a standout to me last night when looking at the race.

Swinging Eddie traded 1.72 but failed to last home. Sharp Operator was never put into the race after being throttled back on the rail. That wasn’t a good ride by young Carson.

    Take a Turn @ 9.4 £3
    Jazz Lady @ 10 £3

Mon Choix won like the Good Thing. If only they always did.

Doubtful if Kingston Kurrajong would have been involved but we will never know. Jim Crowley seemed determined to make life as difficult as possible and he was in a hopeless position at the back. A half-hearted attempt to get into the race followed, with a token swish of the whip but if you had asked a jockey to go out and make sure his mount didn't get involved, this was a masterclass in how to go about it. Winner will be crucified by the handicapper now. Scarcely recognisable as the horse who was 10/12 to Persian Pier running to a RPR of 57 last year. The bollockectomy seems to have worked the oracle with him.

I wouldn't take any of the Pied Piper story as Gospel.

Wikipedia mentions a book where the author had a belief that the Pied Piper was a Paedophile who abducted children when the were asleep. They go on to say that the author offers no evidence but given how long ago it was supposed to have happened and knowing that in these days such scandalous happenings still take place, often over a long period of time, with many victims, I doubt that the people of the time would have had much of a clue. Wikipedia did say that the author also accused other figures from History/Legend of being Paedophiles but again offered no evidence. Maybe he was just someone who liked stirring the pot but when you get right down to it there is often little evidence for or against historical "Events" and how authentic the actual generally accepted truth is.

I once read an article which stated that there is ZERO actual forensic evidence that Jesus Christ actually existed. Most people probably believe that he did but others will dismiss the idea.

Anyway, it was just a joke on my part and sorry if it was in bad taste,

Our horse had this write up from the Racing Post for his run today:-

"Held up in rear on inner, ridden 2f out, soon no impression, beaten final furlong"

Pretty much chimes with my feeling that the horse was never put in the race.

Never mind, back to the drawing board for a better selection tomorrow.

3rd and 4th. That Giant Steps is interesting for the future. He wasn’t put into the race but travelled very nicely.
