Good Morning. It's Monday 10th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds win race to sign Gelhardt Highly rated teenage sensation Joe Gelhardt is on his way to Elland Road after personal terms were agreed over the weekend. Gelhardt caught the eye of many clubs up and down the Country last term, making 19 appearances and netting once for Latics. Paul Cooks side went into administration in the second half of last season, and although they produced some amazing results on the field, their off field financial situation led to a twelve point deduction, and relegation to League 1. Leeds have been in contact with Gerald Krasner, the administrator of Wigan Athletic, and a fee of £900,000 has been agreed. I wonder whether the fact the Krasner was once Leeds Utds Chairman helped push the deal through. Gelhardt is expected to sign in the next 48 hours. Former England forward, Kevin Phillips believes the Whites should send Gelhardt out on loan next term. "When you have come from playing regular football, to sit on the bench and to some days not make match day squad can be really frustrating and can have a major knock-on effect with a player’s confidence,” “If he is not going to be involved week in, week out I would like to see him go out on loan. Get that experience and learn the game. Then when he comes back to Leeds he will be a better player. “I would fully expect the young lad to be loaned out. Whether that be for six months or a year. Until the New Year might be a better option.” please log in to view this image Bamford to lead the line in the Premiership In his recent mailbag, Phil Hay was asked whether he expected Patrick Bamford to start the season leading the line? The 26yo netted 16 times last term in 45 appearances. Unfortunately, he also missed the most guilt edged opportunities in the Championship last term (over 30). Hey replied "Bamford probably will start. I don’t, in all honesty, expect the line-up on the first day of the Premier League season to deviate much from Bielsa’s preferred line-up this season". "Bielsa’s faith in Bamford has paid off so far. Bamford’s been part of a team who won the league by 10 points. Bielsa likes to be loyal and there’s something to be said for that". please log in to view this image Kit will not be revealed until terms are agreed with new shirt sponsors With multiple proposals on the table, Leeds are very much in the driving seat to see who will take over the shirt sponsorship for the 2020/21 season and beyond. Although the West Yorkshire side signed a two year extension with current sponsor 32Red which would have taken them to the end of the 20/21 season, Leeds have a clause enabling them to replace the betting company if they were to secure promotion. Due to their promotion, Leeds will also be looking to replace or most certainly renegotiate secondary shirt sponsorship like sleeve! Photoshoots with the players in the new Adidas kit have already been done, has but Leeds are still in the process of finalising fresh sponsorship agreements and the kit won’t be released or put on sale until those are in place. please log in to view this image
Good morning. Not much to say really until something actually happens. Those concept kits are the worst ones yet.
Morning all. Agree with Phillips, to a point, he needs regular football but he won't learn the Leeds way elsewhere. Anyone I've spoke to, texts from mates, comments from other clubs fans, all have one thing in common, 'you're going to have to get better than Bamford, for next season' have to agree with them. The middle kit is awful, we've done the green striped one before. Just stick to all white for home games and all yellow as the away kit.
Morning all kevin phillips talks shyte. This one goal in 19 games sensational signing needs six months of bielsas boot camp training then he can go on loan if he shapes up. Clipper are sponsoring the training gear who have course a leeds supporter at the helm (helm?).
Morning all Training kit sponsor sorted so we will see Clipper on the front of the shirts and more prominent around the ground. Fans should also receive a slick delivery and returns process for on-line sales as Clipper are one of the best around. we could see 3 kids coming in this week with Joe Gelhardt who I wouldnt send out on loan I would train him in Bielsaball and sit him on the bench every match because he can offer something different, just like Jack Clarke back in the day. This kid is almost the finished article so would benefit more being here. The young Fulham kid Damah looks like hes coming too and he can play a number of positions at the back and down the flanks, so I am guessing we may see Bryce Hosannah go out on loan, be released or sold? We will also be getting 17yo Charlie Allen too We could well see Bielsa sign his new contract today As soon as we have the new shirt sponsor we will get the big reveal and that could also be in the next day or two. Frustrating reading the media, especially about UK based players and Ben White too as transfer fees are ridiculous and we should tell all the greedy fookers we are not dealing. £30m for Ben White is criminal and I would struggle to pay half that for a young lad with no Premier League experience or being an International. Ben has refused new contract offers but it also seems Chelsea and Liverpool are sniffing so we should walk away. Love White but not at that price when a better player with Prem experience and already a full International is available for £10m and with him you get White with extras. The other players from the UK are also way overpriced and I would go elsewhere for the same reasons as above. We can get full Internationals with real reputations from top clubs at half the price.
Bamford was the worst striker we had since that prat from stockport Elding?. I would sell him and buy two proper strikers he is not worth his wages.
Morning all. Wouldn't surprise me if the new young lad ends up on loan at Huddersfield. With Corberan there where better to get a feel for the bielsa way. As for Bamford. Unless we sign a major player as replacement he will start the season up top. I have no problem with this as long as he can keep up the work rate in the prem. What he then needs is the players around- Harrison, Klich, Costa, Roberts, Pablo and any New signing to chip in with more goals. It seems silly to say this in a season where we won the league by 10 points but a lot of pressure & scrutiny was placed on Bamford by the above mentioned players not scoring as many goals as they had the previous season. If they had all scored 3 more each over the season everything would have felt more comfortable. People would have been able to appreciate what Bamford does the team rather expecting 25 goals. Remember the Bielsa set up is for the group to score the goals not just the striker.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a sunny Bardsey Ben White I think we have offered enough infact more than enough and it appears to me we have been bidding against ourselves .So I would tell those greedy owners enough is enough you either sanction it or we walk away and buy a replacement this week! As for getting a forward I am impressed with Bats and it would appear they want to sell him so lets get it done! If you good enough your age should not matter so Geldardt maybe the answer to our striker issue which could save us a lot of money, anyway he signs today along withthe lad from Fulham Bamford is not an PL striker and I think we would have a job selling him
Morning all... Clipper has a couple of huge depots here in Northampton, my best mate is the project manager for this new logistics deal. Fulham supporter as well
Fans allowed in, you'll be at the Fulham hime game then. Will you fancy a pre match pint in the Peacock,in yer posh suit
Steve Parkin is a long time Leeds fan and Clipper Head Office is still in Geldard Rd Leeds. Had dealings with Steve years ago but I have also had meetings and discussions with Tony Mannix who took over from Steve when he stepped down to become Chairman. Tony and I were planning on doing a deal which never came off, and I also almost joined him to set up a warehouse Operation for him around 5 years ago until Cancer got me.
I'm liking your post by the way but the like stopped just before the "Until Cancer" part... How are you getting on now mate?
£40m for White. As anyone who's ever had a bag of chips on any sea front, you'll know what greedy bastards seagulls are.
