Good Morning. It's Thursday 13th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Gonzalez on his way to Elland Road Italian media outlet 'SampdoriaNews' are claiming that Stuttgart striker Nicolás González has his heart set on a move to Elland Road. The versatile 22yo has been on the radar of AC Milan, Inter Milan, Roma and Borussia Dortmund all Summer, but according to the Genoa based journalists, the Argentine wants to work under Bielsa. Gonzalez will depart from the Mercedes-Benz Arena for a fee around 20m. He joined Stuttgart from Argentinos Juniors in 2018 for £7.65m. He netted 14 times last season in 27 appearances. Should the deal fail to materialise, Ollie Watkins will be their backup plan. please log in to view this image Leeds turn their attention elsewhere after 30m snub from Seagulls Having had a 30m bid turned down for Ben White yesterday, Leeds have admitted defeat and are looking elsewhere. According to Bielsa, he is looking to bring two new centre halves to the club, and they are more than likely to be on this list:- River Plate’s Lucas Martinez Quarta leads the race. The skillful 24yo centre back may be available for as little as 10m depending on the state of River Plates finances. Lyanco Evangelista Silveira Neves Vojnović, simply known as Lyanco, is a Brazilian-Serbian centre-back for Torino. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Bologna. He's 23yo and stands 6ft 2'. The Brazilian U23 would be available for 9m Manchester City starlet Taylor Harwood-Bellis is also on Bielsa's short list. Unfortunately for the Whites, Guardiola will not consider a permanent move for the England U19 International. Harwood-Bellis has been at Citeh since the age of six. Last term, he bloke into the first team! Spurs centre back Juan Foyth has been linked with a move to Elland Road over the last few seasons. Unfortunately for the 22yo, Mourinho does not have the faith in the Argentine as Pochettino had. A fee of 12m would secure a permanent deal. please log in to view this image In other news Cody Drameh will become Leeds third major youth signing today after agreeing personal terms and completing his medical at Thorp Arch. The England Under-18 international defender joins from Fulham for just £400,000, due to his contract running out. The fee will rise to 1m depending on appearances. He joins highly rated duo Charlie Allen and Joe Gelhardt who both have arrived at Elland Road in the last fortnight.. Another of Leeds brightest young stars has been tied down to a long-term deal. Jamie Shackleton has signed for another four years. The 20yo finished the Championship-winning campaign with a flurry. He follows the likes of Robbie Gotts, Oliver Casey and Mateusz Bogusz. Aberdeen have confirmed Ryan Edmondson could be out for up to four months after suffering an ankle injury in training. He has returned to ER to see a specialist. please log in to view this image
Morning all. £30M for Ben White is ridiculous. We all want him to sign, but if Brighton don't want to sell, then what can we do? Deffo time to move on to the next target to replace Ben instead (and most likely save some money). I know I sound like a broken record, but I am still wanting to hear new contract signing news for Bielsa himself. All the signs are good, i.e. he's now wearing Adidas every time you see him, but I sleep better when I see the news confirmed that he's signed! Also, can anyone advise the best place to follow the transfer rumours? Sky Sports is useless, so is YEP, Leeds Live seems OK. Twitter for Phil Hay, and Graham Smyth doesnt seem to have much activity on it.
Morning all The CB we decide upon surely has to walk straight into the team. I’m wondering if Phillips is going to be fit enough to resume training? Normally I’d condemn the decision for not showing ambition in the transfer market but the prices teams are asking is crazy. Saying that I’d take a gamble on Eze at £20m as you’ve got to remember that it’s probably £12-15m with add ons. We won the league by 10 clear points, we beat most of the top teams, we actually ended up dropping just 1 point to WBA and Brentford so if their players are worth £20m+ what does that make our own worth?
https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/Championship/Leeds United Most of it is click bait and regurgitated from one another but you’ll find lots of rumours and decent snippets
Morning all DJ try this which is usually a few hours behind but you can click on individual players and see real data https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ Ben White isnt coming to Leeds unless he hands in a transfer request and then may also have to refuse to go to Liverpool, basically do what Johnathan David did as he wanted to go to Lille, even though we bid £7m more of all the names been flying around in the last few weeks, Nicolas Gonzalez is still there and now saying come and get me? Lucas Martinez-Quarta is also still there at a third of the price of White and a full International like Gonzalez. We tried the home grown route but sheer greed must force us abroad now. Thiago Almeda and Florentino are still mentioned but maybe these players are wishful thinking The way we normally do business expect to see none of the above
Sorry Ben, we love you mate but enough is enough, hope you're a starter every game or Potter will have some explaining to do to a young game hungry lad. Looks like we can get both Quarta and Foyth for less money and we need 2 CB's. The young lad from Fulham sounds promising, I know we get stick for the U23 signings but it was always part of the plan, to bring in young talent and develop them, we're not rich,it's a sensible approach in along term project. Really like Shackleton, glad he looks to have a future here, hust needs a run if games, he'd be ahead of Costa for me.
Phillips is one of the reasons Ben wishes to stay at Leeds, loves the camaraderie at Leeds Our unit are so together under Bielsa
Of course, Brighton may be waiting to see whether others step in with bids, or how the first part of their season goes and how their back line performs. If he's not a regular first pick and they don't leak goals, if they have cover (they have what, 4 CBs?) they may then let him move on and strengthen elsewhere. Edit: their GD was better than the teams around them but I expect they think they'll be battling around the same league positions as us, so why support a rival? If they were top 6 it would be different.
Morning well to Answer your question regarding players worth. At the moment doyglas always injured so not much. Phillips and forshaw are worth zero until they get fully fit so are negative equity. Costa is worth far less than we paid for him and we owe by installments so it's another minus. Casilla is a huge drain on finances and not worth a whank. Bamford with his conversion rate about ten million. Harrison is on loan so another zero. Alioski got to be worth something so get rid now or in January.Pony tail is not fast enough for the prem but worth keeping and an easy profit if we sell. Roberts was a reported 3 million and has spent most of his Leeds career on the treatment table. So roberts maybe break even. Klich is an easy profit and if he does well next season another plus on the books.meslier at the moment is worth less than the reported five million. Cooper yes worth something but only to champ clubs at best. Pablo is only worth what he brings to the side and should retire after his time with us ends. Dallas has proved to be a good utility defender so yes worth something. Shakleton three million and if he does well then who knows. Poveda is unproven and looked good against some teams who had given up trying. So his value cannot be estimated. Trying to think who i have forgotten? anyway feel free to add or shoot me down as after all it's only a forum. As a footnote i would like to add Marcelo Bielsa as most valuable asset got to be worth two hundred million surely?.
For everyone that is frustrated with no new incomings which I understand, this is so far the signings made by Premier League teams this window. Brighton- Lallana - free / Veltman -£900,000 Liverpool - Tsimkas £11.7M Man City - Torres £20.8M / Ake - £41M Southampton Walker-Peters undisclosed/Salisu £10.9M Tottenham - Hojbjerg undisclosed So not too much activity elsewhere either. Lots of activity in the FL but mainly loans and freebies.
Morning all. Lot of talk on twitter and here in fact saying White wants to come to Leeds. Does he? Is everyone saying that based on evidence or wishful thinking? If White wanted out of Brighton and to us surely a transfer request would have been put in? Until that happens Brighton can hold us to ransom over the price or wait for a Liverpool or Chelsea to come in. £30 million is the absolute limit of what we should be bidding for him. If our options are one excellent player like him for that much or two very good players let's go with the two. It wouldn't take Bielsa long to make two very good players excellent.
Whatever happens in the window we do have some bonuses to factor into the squad this coming season. Poveda could be as good as Almada and we already have him. Struijk is a much better DM than Ben White and is a specialist CB back up. Forshaw is also a DM and spent a lot of time as an attacking middy for Brentford and Bielsa rated him before his injury. 3 players there who can be good for us and we could even add Forshaw to a list of players to sell? Forshaw, Alioski, Roberts and Douglas should be worth a few mill
Struijk could be a real diamond for this squad this season. Cover for both midfield and defence. A season as back up in the prem and then the following season could go on to be 1st choice.
