Perth 2.40 His Dream Jonjo O'Neill has a good record at Perth with his rare runners there especially over fences (Write It Down was a winner there last week). There is a bit of money coming for His Dream and he has won 2 times after being pulled up the race before. Maybe the swith to fences has rekindled some enthusiasm. 3.10 Level Of Intensity Nigel Hawke is another trainer who often brings home some money when taking his horses to Perth and his Level Of Intensity is on a winning mark and didn't run bad in a better class than today at Market Rasen recently when a staying on 7th of 13. 3.40 Tonto's Spirit 5lb below last winning mark and could get his own way in up in front today. Not proven at this trip but at such huge odds I will take a chance that this sound jumper reaches a place at least for a stable whos runners usually perform well at their local track. 4.15 Touched By An Angel 2nd at Perth one year ago and possibly needed run last time out. Chance at the weights. Its always interesting what Lucinda Russell writes about her runners: "Touchedbyanangel makes a quick return having been midfield last week; Stephen is keen to try different tactics tomorrow before we reach for headgear. " 4.45 Caboy Caboy could be the 2nd winner of the day for Lucinda Russell: From her site: "Caboy delighted us last time on his long awaited return to the track, and haing schooled well at home he takes on the chase fences tomorrow. Ex-French he has scope for improvement on his first run since a wind operation."
SOPHIE B 22/1 WINDSOR 5:00 Eyecatching run on debut but hasnt really gone on from that. Upped to a mile for handicap debut now and on some form lines looks to have been let in on a very fair mark. Not the strongest nursery for this track and I think this one could well be in the shake up.
No. No moles, info, word etc. Just my personal fancies so please take it with a huge pinch of salt! I'm confident of big runs as I think the Boyle yard is hitting form, thats all. We'll see come 3.35 if my confidence was misplaced (as usual )
Leicester 1.30 Kashmirella Gave the impression a step up in trip is what she needs. Hinted some promise on handicap debut at Chepstow 3 runs ago. Trainer/Jockey combo amongst the winners recently and must have an each way chance with this lowly mark.
Lingfield 4.00 Staxton Hill Was held in some regard by trainer Richard Fahey last year when entered for the Redcar Two Year Old Trophy but didn't run to expectations. There was some some money coming for him before his handicap debut after 8 month off last time out when bumped after the start. I've the feeling could show an improved performance today on 2nd handicap start. Todays rider Paddy Mathers rode a nice winner for the yard a few days ago. Interesting each way option in my opinion.
Five Helmets @ 10/1 Lingfield 1.00p.m. Iain Jardine brings this horse on the 700+mile round trip from Dumfries, it is his first ever runner on the turf track, the stable had a winner yesterday and this horse is down in grade. What's not to like
Not really a fan of nurseries but I was interested in the 5.00 Windsor because the top weight has form with Richard Hannon's Etonian, who is being aimed at the Dewhurst for his season finale and then onward to next season's 2000 Guineas. William Haggas' Impulsive One went on to run second to John Gosden's Megallan next time but was well beaten that day and the winner went on to fluff his lines when beaten at odds-on next time out when dropped to 7F. Based on that, the well tipped up Impulsive One looks short enough in a handicap race. I felt it was worth chancing the only winner in the race. Mark Of Respect ran poorly on his second start after a so-so debut but after those two runs at 7F he looked a different horse at a mile, finishing off strongly to pull away for a very tidy win. Based on that improved show, there would seem more scope for improvement at the mile again today. Always hard to rule out improvement from others in these 2YO races and especially with the possibility that they have been prepared to get a mark for nurseries. I was impressed with the way Mark Of Respect did the business last time though and his mark of 73 is probably fair enough if he can progress again. The question is whether something is lurking in the lower weights. I'll go with the proven winner here and hope he can follow up. 5.00 Windsor Mark Of Respect 9/2
VOIX DEAU 14/1 Perth 3:40 His last win was when with Harry Fry off 139 although he did win off higher. Had his problems with breathing and injuries but his recent comeback run blew the cobwebs away nicely and was encouraging. The fact that he reappears augurs well for his wellbeing. A class animal in his pomp and lightly raced for a ten year old. Off 125 today and that is a ridiculous mark for a horse with so much ability. Anywhere near the top of his game he would blow these away.
Its always a possibility as is the chance of the horse not retaining his ability, but we are taking 14/1 here. I am not one of these guys who puts up favourites, I prefer to seek out some value and when you are winning with double figure odds horses you can afford to take a few chances cant you.
No idea what the form is worth but Star Seeking was soooooooooooo impressive at Leicester. Interesting that the lads sent a good un to Stoute.
