IF the meetings this week are about contracts of staff etc, that feels like due diligence rather than early negotiations. So by my book (which means little), I’d categorise that as advanced but not imminent. How quickly advanced becomes imminent becomes done is anybody’s guess.
Deal agreed in principle in my opinion, now working on dotting I’s and crossing t’s with EFL and internally making sure decks are cleared and hold placed on key appointments so the current incumbent can’t make things any worse than he already has
I don't know how these things work, but if it is with the EFL, could the contacts of staff be notice of termination, rather than how much would it cost remove this person? Coleman going was one of Short's last actions. Maybe Donald's last (via Rodwell) is to terminate Parkinson and his staff. Given how short we are on the staffing front, they'd need to make changes as seemless as possible.
If hagrids tweets are to be believed I would say he knows is “offer” will either be turned down or accepted I would say this week, then he will crawl back under his stone and lose about 2000 followers
I do believe the meetings are being held at the EFL( might be wrong) but if that’s the case it’s sounds like the trying to speed things up and get the checks done as soon as possible
You definitely didn't look like an idiot Smug mate, decent posters understand that you were posting the info you received in good faith, keep sharing what you can marra.
Just been looking into what 'period of exclusivity' actually means as I'm no financial camel and got this. "A period of exclusivity is usually given after a final offer from a buyer or investor has been accepted". Goes on to say that doesn't equate to a deal actually being done but "what happens next is a period of due diligence enquiries and negotiation of legal agreements that turn the agreed offer into a completed deal." https://www.firstcapital.co.uk/smarter-thinking/demystifying-manda/ma-jargon-buster-exclusivity/ That suggests to me that a price for the sale of the club has been agreed like as there doesn't appear to be any sound reason to enter into exclusivity without that agreement.
You can enter into exclusivity normally after Heads of terms have been agreed in principal. However it not uncommon for negotiations/amendments right up to the inl on the paper. It is also not uncommon to go into exclusivity and then pull out of the deal.
I'm good mates with Kris, he's very thorough before he puts any news out so I think we can forget him signing for us now
