Yeah but it's Darragh McAnthony we're talking about, he's as difficult as Daniel Levy when it comes to prising players away.
He is, but if they don't get a contract sorted out for him this year, he'll be ****ing off next summer for nowt. He wanted a **** load for Ivan Toney up front originally but settled for £5 million up front plus add-ons. He's stubborn, not stupid.
£5m for a League One striker is pretty good going, especially as he’s been garbage at any other level. I always rated Gary Madine, he always seemed to score at this level.
Whilst I understand that, we've primarily gone for players who've done it at this level so far this summer. Will we depart from that? Maybe, but not sure we will with the cap. Move Wilks central and we have 3 centre forwards, another winger in and we're pretty good up top Doubt we'll use the loan market that much, Grant has said how we ideally want our own players and can't blame him. Also difficult to bring in loanees, when parent clubs know they won't be starters
He’d have played for us last season too but he went to udders for the money and has hardly played Sub again today I think Players make these choices of money over playing Me I’d rather play and look back on my career with a bit of pride
I agree, but I think the chance to sign talented youngsters is a good option when injuries start to bite. If we are indeed after Kane, I'd like to see us also go for Lucas Akins at Burton. Decent record at this level and an experienced head. Can also play on the wing or up front.
He’d have started 46 for us As I said pros make these decisions. Anyone whose ever played and can’t anymore knows the best thing in the world is playing football. FACT
Arsenal have signed a keeper from Dijon. Maybe we should see if they have any outfield players who could cut the mustard in League 1...
Newbie poster, long time lurker! Wow, just listened to Emanuel interview, “we’re not tired, we’re winners man” Can he have a chat with McCann and see if the enthusiasm can rub off! Brilliant interview. What a man!
In his three seasons with us, he played 34, 36 and 39 league games, similar to Huddersfield, where he hardly played. He would have played more for us, he’d also have kept us up, we should have given him a new deal when we had the chance.
I've always like the look of Sammie Szmodics. Scored loads at Colchester, didn't get much opportunity at Brizzle City, maybe too lightweight for Coca-Cola. Scoring again at Peterborough. Bagged the winner today. Though not sure if he's on loan from Brizzle.
