Same, but a whole load of **** is about to hit the fan. Some will do very well out of it, but many will struggle badly. There's going to be thousands if not millions of redundancies and the longer we keep ****ing with the economy, the worse it'll be.

On stadiums, I see no reason why they can't open at 25/30% of capacity. That's surely safer than spending a day round Meadowhall etc in confined spaces etc.

Well, it does tend to be younger ones you see out not socially distancing, not wearing masks...
They tend to be the ones saying co tracking covid won't affect them much and not think or caring about the consequences to others they may affect.
We have the shortest opening hours in Europe in normal times and some would love us to back to the good old days, as they think of them, of pubs shutting in an afternoon and someone ringing a bell and asking if you have a home to go to.

Horse racing has tried to put fans back on course(Doncaster for 1 day) but then curtailed it.I think all sports will face a similar likelihood?

Being in a football stadium is always preferable to being in Meadowhall or anywhere else to do with shopping.

Presumably in the same way that you'll admit that the Council made the right call given the fact that the whole country is now following their lead?

I think given the timing of this announcement that they haven't been able to even assess the trials.

I always assumed that part of the assessment would be whether there was any transmission between separate households, but they can't even know that yet as no symptoms will have kicked in yet.

I thought we might have seen some feedback about entrances and exists, social distancing etc and if having even just 1,000 in the grounds added to the match at all.
Looks like it doesn't matter anyhow because decisions have already been made about not letting fans back in next month as expected.
Lot of problems mounting up not least at City with the next membership payments due on Oct. 1st.
I also don't see how anyone can judge if there were anything passed on or caught by anyone attending the football on Saturday for an hour an a half. You could just as easily come into contact with Covid on the bus going to games, in the pub or chip shop beforehand or visiting the shops or anywhere for that matter before or after the game.

No because at the time, it wasn't the right call, if it was made now for Saturday's game fir example, then yes 100%

Yeah, sorry I do agree feedback on how well the planned measures worked, or didn't would be useful, because we must get back at some point so that info will still be relevant.

I do think transmission info would be useful though. Of course you could get it elsewhere, but if one household was positive, and 50% of the people they were sat near at football were positive a few days later then that is way off the scale to just be down to buses etc. More importantly if one household was positive, but literally no one else at any club tested positive then you could completely rule out transmission with the measures in place and know it was safe to open like that at least. That's why I thought it should have been all clubs, or at least all clubs outside local lockdown areas, with clear rules set by the Govt baed on their SAGE advice.

    Huh?
I don't understand your logic at all.
it wouldn't be a call now as it would be banned

How do you know it wasn't the right call?

I think most Clubs are going to take a severe financial hit over this. Some will manage to continue but I really fear that some Clubs could be in real danger of folding under the financial impact of no fans in stadiums.

As for Hull City, yes,I think this will almost inevitably cause a considerable amount of fans to question whether or not they can continue to find their monthly direct debit payment given the current situation?

The pilot scheme seemed like a reasonable way forward as a pre cursor to allowing higher numbers back but as it turns out,it has served little or no purpose?

I would like to know why the Hull game was pulled at the 11th hour but I'm in no way confident that any information will be forthcoming...

Bit unfair to say it was 'pulled at the 11th hour'
It was announced one afternoon, and they met the next morning and pulled it.
In terms of the timeline from announced to when it should have kicked off it was probably pulled at about 2 o'clock
