Morning all. Bright and sunny with a temperature of 32°C expected this afternoon. It does look as if a change could be about to occur as it is expected to be cooler with some showers around tomorrow. My daughter has just bought three 1,000 litre water butts as despite having five 300 litre ones she has run out of rainwater for the garden she is still creating. She can fill hers up quite quickly as they are attached to a very large house roof, whereas I have to collect mine from a shed. I could have attached a couple more to my linked six and probably filled them in the Spring, but didn't really think it could be so hot and dry for the second year running. Maybe I should start looking around for some bargains now rather than leave it to next year. Have a good day whatever you will be doing. <ok>

Morning all. Bright and sunny now, but we have had some overnight rain. Not sure yet how much, I will find out when I check the water butts down the fields. The forecast says sunshine and showers this morning, hail this afternoon, then more showers for the rest of the day. Looking at the sky I do wonder where it is coming from. Our forecasts used to come from the airport at Poitiers, but now come from Bordeaux and seem to be less accurate. Still whatever they say will not change what it actually does. Must remember to collect some seaweed next time I get to the coast as that seems to work well. Have a good day, and let's hope that the Horns have a good one as well. <ok>

All that gardening worthwhile? Our first winter out here was one of the coldest on record, but it didn't last too long and by February we had Spring like weather.

Morning all. Sunshine and showers forecast for today, with the possible inclusion of a storm this afternoon. Yesterday afternoon we had the mother and father of a storm and a weeks worth of rain in a couple of hours. Trying to watch the time trial in the Tour was difficult as the picture was being constantly lost. Still down south they have had flash floods, so nothing as bad as that here. Hopefully I will have collected rainwater again, but I will not need to get the can out today. Have a good day whatever you are doing. <ok>

Morning all. The showers forecast for yesterday passed us by. Plenty of dark clouds, but they dropped nothing. Still the water emergency is over as I collected 400 litres off my shed roof during the storm on Saturday. As I returned from the fields on Saturday a very young deer saw me approaching and dived into the undergrowth for cover. It looked to be no more than a month old, so I passed by and expected its mother to come out of hiding if I didn't hang around. Yesterday I was really saddened to see such a beautiful creature lying dead by the village pond. Just a reminder that not everything in the countryside is all sweetness and light. Have a good day whatever you must do. <ok>

Morning all. Very grey with an Autumnal feel about it this morning. Took a cucumber to my neighbour yesterday as there are only so many that we and the family can eat. She had been busy making quince jelly, and still had so many she didn't know what to do with them. It really is a time of harvest for many things, and always good to have your own fresh produce. Have a good day whatever you are doing. <ok>

Morning all. Bright and breezy, but rain showers expected this afternoon. Received the annual letter from the pension service in the UK asking me to confirm that I am still alive. This means a trip to the Marie to get the official stamp and squiggle that is the signature of the Mayor. As this is now something that happens every year now, it used to be perhaps every five, I think I will ask for a spare stamp and ink pad, then I could squiggle and send it back. The leaflet that comes with it tells me that I must inform them if I start work. Should I tell them that after a coffee I intend to cut up some logs ready for the woodburner? Have a good day whatever you are doing <ok>

Morning all... very damp up here. Recovering from a typical dire league cup performance last night...

Incidentally i had a full on heart check up at the hospital yesterday.... stress echocardiogram, stress ecg and stress BP... basically the ever speeding up and steepening treadmill....
All fine as i expected.... this whole saga started after Xmas when i went to my GP becuase i was getting light headed on steep hill climbs and I thought it was my BP meds... He read me the cardiac riot act and sent me to the Consultant who prescribed a battery of tests...and then lockdown happened and i heard nothing for 6 months..... the heart unit at the hospital had been given over to covid...so all but the most urgent cases were put on hold.... anyway at the end of this battery of tests, the consultant scratched his thinking cap and said I dont think there is anything wrong with your heart... it is most likely my BP meds... well...erm.... .that is what I said to my GP in January...... what a crazy waste of time and resources.... I know my GP wanted to be sure.... but three times over the last two years I have been to him with issues with my BP...and three times he has referred me to a different consultant who has checked me out and referred me back...... time to change my GP methinks

Meanwhile the consultant was telling me all about covid at the hospital.... and how half the cardias unit of 100 beds was set up for covid ventilation cases.... and admissions have doubled in the last week... He intimated that another lockdown of hospital services was imminent...

    Have a good day......

That would be typical - my GP has just referred me to the orthopaedics department of our nearest hospital - suspected osteoarthritis in my left hip which is stopping me from walking too far, or even standing up for too long. God knows how long a wait I will have...

Congratulations on the clean bill of health though...

OFH, done a match thread for the scum. My work varies a lot, I don't want to do a rota. But, I don't want to do one if you want to or if you are doing one. The midweek games might also be a problem for me as well.

Anyways let me know. There are more games this season and in less time. So, there might be a few threads for games with no big intros.

If anyone else wants to do match thread(s) then great!

Just say that you will do the thread in Canary Dave beforehand and job done!

    Ta,

Morning all. Thanks for the thread Mex. I seem to have done them for a long time so all help is appreciated.

Went on the bread run this morning forgetting that the baker who fills the machine just down the road is on holiday, so had to go to the supermarket six miles away. The wind turbines that sit on top of one of the hills do not appear to have turned for a week now, so we continue to subsidize the company that owns them, yet get nothing from them. One couple have one 500 metres from their front door and claim that it was not erected in accordance with the plans, so want it moved. Somehow I think that they will have a long and expensive legal battle. Have a good day whatever you must do. <ok>

OK see how we go - we can post in the Canary Dave beforehand if we can do them or not - if not some might just be a simple cut and paste on the day.

Morning all.. Mind boggling hail storm here last night that came in without warning after grumbling thunder for half an hour...
We are walking today, so expect wind and showers... A day for waterproof layers...
