Ha! In 1979 I remember trying to use a railway line in the Sudanese desert as an aerial extension so that I could better hear the result of our game against Shrewsbury on the BBC World Service.
Times have changed eh... I used to get the weekly guardian sent to me in Bhutan. So I was literally two weeks behind each game.. And All I got was the score! I think Dave has well explained the clubs position. All parties also are bound not to discuss ongoing negotiations.. I think we will be surprised that one or two stay and one or two will be loaned out, so the books can be balanced. I think we Sarr, and to a lesser extent TD we can be a force in the championship. Even Sinclair looks a little hopeful at this level..

Well maybe this one then - at least it's not from the Sun. Sheffield Wednesday's Dominic Iorfa. https://the72.co.uk/193961/watford-set-sights-on-sheffield-wednesday-star/
Unfortunately, various Spanish sources are suggesting that Luis Suarez may be joining Granada on loan (fee €3 million) with an obligation to buy (fee €15million). It is a pity because I think that he would have added a different quality to the team than Sarr and João Pedro and that he could have scored many goals for Watford. His wife is Spanish so I think that he wants to stay in Spain. He played in the Granada B team earlier in his career and I have read that his wife comes from the same city. I wonder whether the eventual fee (if the reported amount is correct) will turn out to be too low for a player with great potential.
Yes would be a shame and leave us short up front in that we would have 3 big physical strikers but only Pedro, Gray when fit and Sarr if he stays as quick ones.
Even if he does come and he isn't coughing won't he be in isolation for two weeks then have to get back his fitness to Vlad's satisfaction? At best I doubt if he will play much before mid November. Wold we use up a place in the 25 man squad for such a relatively short period?
Another right footer though. Another central defender, even in a 3 apparently. Suggests we may move at some point to a 4 at the back. Surely we need a left footer? This guy coming apparently means Perayra goes in the other direction.
Italy is on the latest travel corridor list (updated two days ago) so he shouldn't have to isolate - BoJo didn't after his little jaunt there earlier this month. Even if he signed today I doubt he'd be playing at Reading anyway and the following weekend there are international fixtures - so our next match is not until 16th October - that gives him three weeks of training with the squad. The second half of October should be interesting - we'll have Perica back from suspension and Welbeck, Gray and Success back from injury - and the possibility of Deulofeu if no one buys him.
Pardon my mirth...Javi Gracia has been told that neither Capoue nor Deulofeu are good enough for Valencia... Sour grapes because they couldn't afford them? https://www.tribalfootball.com/arti...-enough-to-improve-valencia-4342062#popup-sso
Wellbeck, will I expect probably attract interest from English clubs, so could have moved on. The Gray rumours are also still doing the rounds, so who knows if he will be an option. Looks like we will be unsuccessful in losing Sucess.
If he's still injured at the end of the window, possibly not - but then I suppose he could ask for his contract to be torn up.
I know that Luis Suarez wants to return to Spain for family reasons and Granada will play in the Europa League, but I wonder whether Luis Suarez and his agent are fully aware of the potential problems at Granada. Granada won their first two games in La Liga (both home fixtures), but lost 1-6 away to Atletico Madrid on Sunday. Jiang Lizhang, the Chinese owner of Granada, is desperately trying to sell the club. A report in the Athletic by Matt Slater states that a possible takeover at Granada in the summer has stalled. "Several sources have told The Athletic that agents claiming to work for Jiang have said the club must be sold by the end of September or he could withdraw his support." It could create financial issues for the club if Jiang, who is the majority owner, decides to withdraw his support. I remember what happened with Malaga a few years ago when their owner withdrew his support.
