Hey guys, really sorry to see the start of the season is so disappointing for you :emoticon-0106-cryin

I still hope for some kind of fairy tale this season but do you think this is one step too far for Wycombe now?

Horgan looks sharp and strong, with a bit of luck his bicycle kick could have been a candidate for goal of the week. Will probably start next game. The new youngster looks classy, should have no trouble keeping his place. Stewart as reliable as ever. McCarthy played well but I think he has to take the blame for the first goal. However it shouldn't have materialised because there should have been a free kick at the other end when our striker was taken out on the edge of the penalty area. The new defender (Tafazolli ) played well. Samuel did well again causing errors from Swansea and showing his usual fighting spirit. I doubt Allsop will be fearing his place for a while

The second half was much better from Wycombe, showing some glimpses of football

We only lost 2-0 to a potential Premier side so some progress from last week. We need a goal scorer but we need to create more opportunities. That will be tough in this league

Obviously it is going to be difficult but Gareth will be looking to see where we need to strengthen up.

We were doing OK today until that first goal where we were caught on the break following what should have been a free kick for us on the edge of their area. The second goal was a killer but we fought on. Most teams will outplay us and have 60+% possession but that's the way we play
Just 3 games in and we should have had all 3 points in the first game; that was the biggest disappointment so far. I suspect Blackburn and Swansea will prove to be among the strongest teams in the league so, apart from the first game, where we were in control throughout, it has more or less gone as suspected

I'm not disheartened at present. From hereon in it depends what Gareth can manage in the loan market. A win will provide a big boost - even a goal would

Is the budget too small to get fixed contract players this season?

I will still be rooting for you most weeks, with the obvious exceptions. You will pick up points along the way, no doubt; even the worst of Championship sides manage 25+ points (typically). I hope you will do better than that to at least give the fans some hope for whatever happens next season.

I know you guys keep your feet firmly on the ground, even in the best of times so this season will be no different, just that much harder.

Rotherham hold the record of lowest points tally with 24 a few seasons ago, we can do better than that i'm sure. <cheers>

It's only goal difference that's keeping us in the bottom 3. :smiley-finger007:

It's feckin hard isn't it. One league down and you make a mistake you get away with it 5 times out of 10 perhaps. In this league a whole load of players have some premiership experience and you get away with it maybe twice out of ten if you are lucky. It's a huge step up for some players who maybe thought they were doing well to be in league one. You need a break from somewhere to kick start your season.

The first half at times the movement of the Swansea team was a totally diffierent level to a league 1 team

Agree Phil. Some teams pass the ball around a lot but their possession stats mean sfa as it's in their own half, or as soon as it gets into the opposing half; it goes back again. But Swansea were passing slickly, and accurately, in and around our penalty area. With better marksmen they would have scored more. That is the worry in this league. Our defenders are very good individually but they were being taken apart in the first half. We did much better in the second half but how much of that was due to Swansea easing off, I don't know

The other thing I am finding, having now watched the four games on television. Having before probably only watched four or five home games & maybe a couple away & this from standing or sitting behind the goal a season. You can see the problems or not that we are having.

Movement off the ball is key. Whenever someone is about to receive the ball, he should know what he is going to do with it. That requires movement from team mates to be readily available for the pass and give options for the player about to receive the ball. The skill difference is then minimised

I think that is the problem we are facing. Other teams are doing just that which leaves us most of the time just trying to get the bloody ball
