cheers mate! I’ve only just opened the page and had to have a sharp intake of breath at the first photo
Brilliant, I’ll listen to that later. Glad they started with New Rose, the first proper punk track ever released.
The roots of Punk go back to the late fifties with Link Wray's distorted power chords and then Dave Davies' early Kinks guitar sound which was copied by the Garage Rock bands. The Stooges, MC5, Velvet Underground and New York Dolls could all be described as Proto Punk too. Ramones and the CBGB bands also pre dated the UK Punk scene. Chilcs is correct in saying that The Damned's New Rose is the first UK Punk single from the movement that exploded in 1976.
Footage taken from the Soul Train TV show that went out weekly across the USA. The presenter was vastly superior to the BBC´s Top of the Pops presenters. So was the programme.
Claire Isabelle Geo Pommet, otherwise known as Pomme, with a French pop classic from 2017. Here she is letting snails crawl all over her:
Fully appreciate that this won't be everyone's cup of tea... Buddy of mine from my music blogging days has just got her latest song included on the Fifa 21 soundtrack, so I'm pretty excited and delighted for her.
