Directly relating to this would be why were patients not tested for COVID, both showing symptoms and not put into care homes where severely vulnerable elderly people were. Just to note we don't do that with people who have suspected flu, we retain them in hospital. Given at the outset they claimed this was more dangerous than flu, why would we take such a brazen risk of life?

Up to June 20th some 19,394 deaths in care homes were attributed to COVID. So virtually half of our entire death count.

I’m not saying the Government hasn’t made mistakes. I’m not saying it doesn’t impact more upon the elderly than the young.

What I am saying is it will take everyone’s efforts to hold the virus at bay whilst we hopefully find a workable vaccine. Not just the old, not just the young. Everyone. You can’t allow the virus to run rampant through the young as they don’t suffer as much as the elderly as they can still pass it on. We should all be in this together.

My point of view is that the sanctions and "laws" being imposed by this idiotic government are not commensurate with the risk and there should be a MUCH greater onus on those who are at, or close to people at, risk (such as myself) to behave responsibly, which then relieves some of the pressure on everyone else. Priorities are all over the place, there is no clear plan, the Gov has contradicted itself repeatedly and yet amongst all this we still record under 20 deaths per day. France, Benelux, Nordic countries are all just asking for basic intelligence measures - common sense, responsibility, respect - but mainly asking people to just go about their lives to keep the economy from collapsing. The knock on effects, economically and mentally, are infinitely more impactful to the public than exposing a very aging, and tiny, minority of the population to a potentially (slightly) premature end.

    Just my opinion, mind.

If the General Public could and would act responsibly then you may have a point. But...

If the general public cannot be trusted (they can’t, mostly thick, pig-ignorant tossers), then we need ID cards and a rethink on the voting system.

People dying of lung disease, fags are available at every supermarket. People dying of liver failure, alcohol's available everywhere. Carbon dioxide kills, cars are still in City centres.

It's such a load of ****ing nonsense I can't even compute. Just because the ignorant ****ers/voters can't stay home when they're not well, everybody has to be in mass panic. I mean, there's a shortage of ****ing toilet roll again. ****ING TOILET ROLL FOR ****S SAKE!!!!!!

What would it be like if you had a decent transport network. <whistle>

I was tempted at the weekend when dragged out shopping by her indoors to ask someone coming out of Sainsbury’s why they had bought 84 toilet rolls. Yes 84 !! Sadly, I counted them as he put them in his car. He did give me a funny look as I was stood 3 yards away watching him.

I’m with you on this one as I cannot comprehend what makes someone panic buy 84 toilet rolls.
