During the game I didn't notice the fans reaction as I was to wrapped up in the game. After watching highlights the behaviour of some Everton fans who were throwing objects at the players was a disgrace. The FA should take action against the club for the behaviour of the fans. I've always backed Everton when they are not playing us but today has changed my opinion. There is no excuse, even the simplest of minds should see that the sending off was the fault of the ref and not any Liverpool player.
They will blame it on liverpool somehow. Remember, everton and its fans, players, managers etc are comepletely flawless.
i am watching the game again now and the anger and vitriol being directed towards the liverpool players, esp at corners,is unacceptable and once they start throwing things at Bellamy and Suarez then, for me,they cross the line and yes I think they should be fined. I understand their frustration over the sending off but there were 2 other tackles (at least) from Hibbert and Fellani that could well have resulted in straight reds.It was an a wful day for the ref in almost every decision he made.
True Everton fans should be ashamed of these idiots actions. For whatever reason over the last few years, they seem to becoming more and more bitter. Little club attitude, narrow minded ignorant fanbase. Be glad when there relegated to the championship.
If the trowing incidents had happend at any other ground then we would be screaming that action should be taken. For the plastic bottles themselves then they should be fined. However, there is no also talk of a 50p coin being thrown and that raises the seriousness of the incidents. There is no argument, the FA/Premiership have to take action.
Everton should be punished, but that ref should also be charged with incitement to riot. Nice 3 pts for you guys though & good to see Carrol on the sheet
You forgot the high challenge from Cahill. That was worse in theory than the sending off offence. The only reason that Rodwell walked was because his studs were showing. Its the rules, I don't particularly agree with them, in my honest opinion he shouldn't have got more than a yellow. I've seen worse challenges and only yellows were given. As for the object throwing, thats been going on for god knows how long. At least none of the Liverpool players threw something back like Jamie Carragher did at highbury. I can remember one year Liverpool fans threw mobile phones at Wayne Rooney, if they had better aim they would have hit him.
Anybody who goes to a match and throws anything at either the players or oficials should be banned for life. The club themselves have to be fined as they have not been able to steward the situation effectively. It matters not who the perpatrator is or what club they claim to support. Truthfully, the majority of Bluenoses did nothing other than proclaim their anger at the referee and they had a perfect right to do that verbally. When that anger boils over into throwing things then the situation is getting out of hand and becomes potentially dangerous. Sirtfireball has got it wrong. Referees are there to control the game itself i.e. what happens ON the pitch. They will and do make mistakes and we have to live with them. If you now want them to make their decsions with reference to the crowd reaction then you are on a very slippery slope.
I agree with that. Everton should be punished for the actions of their fans. The throwing of objects is unacceptable.
Just find the people who did it and ban them from every football ground for life. Passion is one thing, but that is just stupidity. I don't think a fine would stop it - most fans probably don't care if a club has to pay £25k fine as it has no effect on them at all.
with all the cameras at this game they should be able to identify some of the culprits and ban them for life - coin throwing can do serious damage if it hits a player in the eye
Can't see how giving a fine to Everton would stop the idiots who through objects at players. Find the idiots who chucked the objects and ban them from football for life.
at anfield one of the "precious" corporate boxes in the centenary stand is dedicated to security and they can identify a culprit and eject and ban them. Can everton do this? If the club fails to meet its premier league regulation committments (ie taking action agaisnt such offenders) then yes they should be fined. If everton FC take action and ban those throwing objects then fine let that be the case....... it is up to the FA, NOT US, to control these things so if everton have a hostory of issues let that be the case, NOT US WHINGING
Bitter Liverpool fans once described by UEFA as the worst fans in Europe. Was there any reports of mass bunk ins on Saturday like you did Athens, or were you just involved in your usual practice of robbing tickets off each other? Either way, I'm glad no Everton players needed an ambulance, the temptation for the Liverpool fans would have been too much.
tie for a mod to just ban this clown...i'm hitting ignore after i write this. but mods when someone is on accusing guys of this and that like this they should be banned poste haste.
