Michael Bailey doesn't expect a new CB in the door, Saliba or otherwise.

Seems mad to try and do a Championship season with 3 senior CBs, especially given Hanley's injury record. Do we think there's a youngster they really trust to step up?

The next one down the production line is 18 year old Andrew Omobamidele and I don't think he's ready .
Famewo looks good but he's on loan at Charlton.

Bushiri is on loan in Belgium, I honestly think Farke has converted Tettey into a centre back dispite struggling when thrown in last season.

If Max gets sold we don't have any right back cover McCallum is on loan at Coventry even though they have 3 already and if Krul gets injured we have to rely on McGovern.
It would be mad to sell Godfrey and release Klose without lining up replacements.

We'll end up with Drmic and Tettey as a centre back pairing at this rate.

Bennett was on loan to Leicester with a £5m buy option , he is still under contract until June 2021 .

It would be mental to release him for free in 2017 only to buy him back in 2020 .

    Wolves don't want him
    Leicester never played him.
    Is he any good?
    Worth a punt for me

His positioning saw him - and us as a team caught out numerous times when he was here before.
Judging by how crap we are at defending set pieces and zonal marking, that doesn't augur well.
A big fat NO from me.

'Dozens' of similar comments on twitter this morning.

    Bethnal Y and G

    Seeing this and reading
    @michaeljbailey's
piece on the Athletic that Norwich will likely use Tettey or
Sorenson as centreback cover has got me worrying.

Can we effectively launch a serious challenge for promotion with only 3 recognised CB? Even if Tettey is used as a makeshift CB, surely we will find the task very difficult taking into account injuries. This seems a strange time to let Klose return to Switzerland on loan.

I agree we need 4 recognised CBs. But even if Klose does stay, how long before he is injured again ? We appear to have 2 or 3 promising youngsters, out on loan gaining valuable experience. I would happy to see Klose go as long as we recruit an experienced Championship CB to replace him . IMO, Ryan Bennett does provide a short term solution.

My guess, and I'm usually right about these things, is Omobamidele will be Timm's replacement.

Just waiting for one (or more) of Zimbo, Gibson or Hoadley to get crocked. Let’s make the same mistakes second time round shall we ?

I was wondering whether Sorensen might be considered sufficient cover, with Tettey also able to cover.

I can’t say i’m as positive about this campaign as I was a few weeks ago.

Wish the Cantwell saga would come to an end. It’s getting boring now with the will he or won’t stories that abound. I would be glad to see him go now as he hasn’t really contributed much to the team this season.

Dave Freezer's view on his latest performance in the U21s 5-0 win at Newport County:

"Strangely enough, despite this being an emphatic win, I'd say one of my man of the match contenders is centre-back Andrew Omobamidele, looked so composed, got through plenty of work, clearly comfortable with the ball at his feet too."

In spite of that, I feel we're in danger of making the same mistake as last season when we failed to get cover for Klose.
