I agree with Rob on some things and disagree on others It’s great that we have different points of view - the truth lies somewhere in the middle of all the different opinions!!!!
I have many different points of view than Rob, I like him but not necessarily agree with him, we just have different destinations, I love his honesty, have my own thoughts and respect his.
confidence thing? or maybe each station is set up and can do x number of tests bit like MOT in theory you can turn and maybe wait and get one! or you book your slot … I suppose each station catchment area does not have a INFINITE DAILY NUMBER OF TESTS? Time , staff numbers prospective cases.... mitigating factors!
Labour yesterday between Mayors and mps were saying different things. behave like that and people are more likely to break lockdowns not follow guidelines. The Tories Hunt called it out for playing politics. it was sabotage and tere are also Tories playing games with the nations health!!!
Appreciate the comments, and it's certainly returned . I've said it before myself, but I think bcfcredandwhite is correct in that more often than not the truth lies in the middle. Politically clearly I'm the opposite end from many here. It does seem like the numbers are piling up through all of the main European countries now, so to some extent I don't blame the latest rise necessarily on the government. But the difference lies in how they respond to this - France has locked down major cities, Spain have imposed a 2-week state of emergency on Madrid, that is completely in contrast to our tier system which is just not enough. And I think we'll see the effect of all this in 2 weeks time.
That may well be, and there's no point arguing against that, it's your opinion and we've done it already. But I'll say what I've said before - if Corbyn and Abbott were in power (and I use them as an example because a few people here hate them), there is no way you'd be being this lenient on them. There's not a chance that a few of you would be giving them the benefit of the doubt. I just think that says a lot, that's all.
I definitely agree it's somewhere in the middle of Labour, you've got Andy Burnham up in Manchester, grabbing his bit of glory saying no to lockdown, Sadiq Khan in London, fighting for survival in his job getting the begging bowl out pleading for lockdown, some labour MP saying they are both right although at opposite ends of the argument, Keir Starmer on Monday off the fence agreeing with 3 teir lockdown and on Wednesday jumps back on it again suggesting a' Circuit Breaker', they are just jousting politically. They don't care a **** about the outcome as long as they appear clean, they are charlatans, all of them. Just to add I'm not impressed with Boris and his crowd, communication breakdown and broken promises win no friends but to their defence they are fighting the complete unknown.
Think you're being a bit harsh there on some of them though tbf wiz. I see Burnham popping up but as far as I can tell all he wants is support for the businesses which are forced to close if/when the government imposes tier 3, which I think is totally fair enough and what an MP should be doing. Starmer - in all honesty I think he's playing the long game. He's a lawyer, he's superb at PMQ's, he's just biding his time for when it matters. I'm still not sure what I think of him or if he's any good, he hasn't had a chance to show it yet, but he's clearly playing the game and I don't blame him to be honest. If it helps I can agree on Khan - he's certainly one to jump on the bandwagon for political gain.
Of which the people of Madrid are rebelling, complaining and winning a court battle that keeping them locked up is against their human rights..
Mate, If Corbyn and Abbott were in power, the Country would be on it's knees and the laughing stock from around the world.....I couldn't think of anything worse...
And yet where in the UK is performing worst of all in it's covid response? Wales, and who makes the covid decisions in Wales?, labour and where is the 2nd worst performing area?, Scotland, and who makes the covid decisions in Scotland?, the SNP and of course our friend Sadiq Khan hasn't covered himself in glory either. The bottom line is we are dancing in the dark, we have never dealt with anything like this ever in the modern world, the 'experts' seem to make it up on a daily basis and seem to contradict themselves also on a daily basis. The government is damned if they follow the 'experts' as not being strong enough and damned if they ignore the 'experts' as being reckless. And dear Keir wants a new lockdown but ordered his MP's to abstain from voting for it.
This isn't even relevant to the point. It's not really that different to what's happening between Burnham and Boris right now anyway. What, and we're not now? We're an absolute joke right now. There are all sorts that would have been wrong with those lot in charge. I certainly wouldn't want that sort of government. But you know what, being more left, they are probably more likely to have locked down far earlier and saved lots of lives. They probably wouldn't have wasted £12 BILLION on an app that doesn't work. So much for the party that is 'good for the economy'. The problem which I'm trying to demonstrate, and which you've done for me in the previous posts, is that you will go to great lengths to defend this government, but you won't apply that same outlook to the other sides. You're biased more so than most on here. And to make it clear, I think Abbott is rubbish and Corbyn is useless. I'm just trying to demonstrate to you that maybe a few posters on here aren't necessarily the most objective. And I'll hold my hands up and admit, I was arguably the same in the BLM thread. But at least I recognise that.
