Following on from the excellent Wycombe dream team post, I was wondering who fellow not606ers thought has been the Blues hardest player in the last 25 years. Ive listed my top 5.

    1. Steve Brown - ferocious in the tackle and occasionally got into trouble with the ref. I remember when Smilie was in charge and we had such a terrible start to the season. Brownie had been sent off twice in the opening games and the favoured chant was 'Brownie....has more points than us'.

    2. Glynn Creaser - One of the nuttiest players ive seen. Famously psyched out the Runcorn players in the tunnel at Wembley before the 93 tropy final by pointing at them and shouting 'look lads they're sh**ing themselves!! One of the most important, influencial players in taking us up from non league.

    3. Ooo Terry Evans. Literally a giant. There werent many aerial battles he lost. Also, who remembers the volley against Reading in the League cup, later 90's. The AP announcer referred to him as 'Gianluca Evans' before our next game.

    4. Tommy Docherty - loved a tackle, could have achieved more with us.

    5. Gary Smith - anyone remember him? Not a great player but, legend has it, put his fist through a window in the dressing rooms at Wembley before the trophy final with Kidderminster because he wasnt sure the other players were up for it. Sold soon after but worth a mention anyway!!

Great post! Terry Evans would be top of my list. Always thought it was ironic when he became a physio after retiring, fixing people instead of breaking them. Jason Cousins deserves a mention too, always loved a tackle. Didn't he get sent off in 2 consecutive games and Martin O'Neill gave him an extra ban for it too?

<applause> I agree with the first 4 + Jason Cousins. I was at that Kidderminster final but I don't remember Smith. If I don't remember him I can't have him on my list.

Big fan of all of them (exc Smith of course) but I really liked Creaser (aptly named) and hoped he might go into management; great leader and no nonsense player who led by example. Just gets the nod from me.

Steve Brown was another favourite and I was incensed by the referee for sending him off in the last minute for removing his shirt after scoring the winner at the death against ..............

Do you know why he took off his shirt? Answers please.

I had my photo taken with Steve Brown when he presented me with a football autographed by the team, for sponsoring the match ball. I can't find the picture but if I do I'l post it up. The ball is right behind me as I type, in the lounge.

The time i think your thinking of is when we played leicester in the 6th round of the F.A. Cup when we reached the semi's. His son was quite ill at the time and when Essandoh got the winner late on he took it off when celebrating with the fans. Steve Bennett the ref gave him his second yellow for it and off he went. Shame spoilt the gloss a little on what was an amazing day.

I wonder if he'll ever come back. (Stevie that is)

Does anyone know what happened to Glyn Creaser? Did he ever go into management/coaching?

Don't know if anyone follows Brownie on Twitter but mentions Wycombe from time to time. Think he said he had just had a chat with Mark Rogers and was in the Vere Suite after one of the recent games.

Andy Rammell for purely the reason that he used to let the defence know he was there.

Martin Taylor for a different reason i might be wrong but didnt he break both legs and was told his career was over? Great keeper and never stopped him diving at peoples feet.

I believe that Jamie Bates also warrants a mention in here. He was also a rather fearsome defender!!
