On the bench. He’s not keeping Mick Channon out the starting 11.

And Mane only needs to come on for 2 minutes and 56 seconds anyway.

MOTD we’re talking about Kane. How he could drop into space AND be the No9 like no one else

I’d suggest Danny is the same ...
which makes Che our Son maybe?

Has Ings signed yet? Would make my Monday after that shambolic performance (oops, force of habit; sort of Monday morning Saints Tourette’s)

It might be wishful thinking, but it is very suggestive! Lets hope for an announcement ahead of Sunday

I'm 99.99% sure that Danny will sign, he has proved himself to a fine individual with his charity work and has stated how happy he is to be playing regularly and scoring goals, England is the cherry on the cake.

On the JWP celebration, last season it was him and Danny lining up a snooker shot as their joint celebration.

Must be more into golf now.. my mate is a member at South Winch golf club and Ings has been up there a fair bit recently. Played there with JWP, Armstrong and Armstrong's dad/brother the other day.

On talk of the contract though, Ings is 29 in July. If he has another great season (15+ goals), hopefully being in his late twenties will put clubs off going for him given the fee we'd demand. Let's be honest, tying him down to a longer deal really just means we can get more money if he's sold.

Generally yes, but as you say, his age changes things. Similar to the Vardy situation when Arsenal were interested - think he was 28 at the time. He ended up signing a big contract (length & wages) which pretty much keeps him at the club for his career.

The amount it would have taken to make Leicester sell Vardy after that deal is more than any club would spend on a 29/30 year old that has only 1 or 2 20+ goal seasons.
It will likely be the same with Ings

Yeah that’s a good comparison. Also with Che starting to chip in with the goals, Ings may score less this season/not be as heavily relied on. That could be a positive for us keeping him this summer and into the longer term.

It’s a bit of a negative thing to be thinking about, but I guess that’s become a bit part and parcel of being a Saints fan and expecting to sell anyone who starts playing well.

While he's resting that knee he'll have to sign loads of consent forms and stuff, won't he. Just slip that contract underneath his consent for a scan and bingo.
If we sold him I'd want Harry Kane, and I can't see that happening. Everyone says he's a nice bloke, so bloody sign and cheer us all up, you bugger.
