Missing live music? Wayne Coyne and co have it sorted with his band, Flaming Lips....

Prior to COVID he used to get in his bubble and "crowd surf" - now everyone can be in on the action!

Stop being such a child and yeah I’m going to pick when you flat out misrepresent what I’ve been saying to try and score points. You can be really pathetic at times.

Volunteer in Oxford COVID-19 vaccine trial has died, Brazil health authority says

    Thu, October 22, 2020, 5:50 AM GMT+13

BRASILIA, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Brazilian health authority Anvisa said on Wednesday that a volunteer in a clinical trial of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University has died, stating it had received data from an investigation into the matter.

The Federal University of Sao Paulo, which is helping coordinate phase 3 clinical trials in Brazil, separately said that the volunteer was Brazilian. (Reporting by Eduardo Simoes and Jake Spring; Editing by Christian Plumb)

So lets get this right Will, who said..
    So I said...

So I am not misrepresenting you? You said it yourself "Blair is nothing more than a member of the public"... not to mention ex PM and Executive Chairman of the Institute for Global Change? <doh>
Yet you brushed him off as someone of no importance? Sorry Wills I'm not 'misrepresenting' you or 'pathetic' you just need to accept that whoever breaks a rules, breaks a rules.
I won't need to be as derogatory to you because this should leave you a bit red faced. But Remember Wills Blue is the colour as some say. :emoticon-0148-yes:

The trial is continuing because, the volunteer was not actually on the vaccine arm of the trial, he was on the control arm of the trial.

So to make it plain, the patient was not given Covid19 vaccine

Not at all, the point being made, which you very well know, is that whilst nobody who breaks the rules is exempt from criticism and Blair's actions reflect badly upon himself and he should face the full force of the law and he could be seen to have damaged the reputation of the Institute for Global Change. Cummings is a high profile representative of the Tory party who are writing and implementing the rules, they who to use your own words, tried to sweep it under the carpet. This went to undermine public trust and confidence in the restrictions put in place, the whole one rule for them another for everyone else.

Do you honestly think both are the same?

Whilst yes this is covid related I apologise to others for commenting about what might be perceived as a political issue, the only reason I have is because I noticed that Ellers had made a snide personal dig at me on the thread yesterday, which he has continued to do, and not for the first time he has made the implication that I support Chelsea.... I mean seriously what the **** is the point of that, very childish.

Tbh ... any high profile person who is prepared to make nationwide comments on COVID-19 should be following the guidelines or look a fool for being caught not doing so. Blair is high profile. Cummings is high profile. Lineker is high profile. Corbyn is high profile. The public see ALL these people act contrary to the rules and question why they can break them.
Small, insignificant, point scoring does this topic no justice. It does seem that the heat of politics and covid on the forum has lowered the civility in both those topics and now in the ‘on-topic’ threads which is a shame. We ‘fellow hoops’ :emoticon-0105-wink: should keep to our secret handshakes and aprons and remain that strong ‘band of brothers’.

Whilst I agree with most of that and certainly the sentiment, this is political when the political party handling it is handling it so badly, don't get me wrong no matter who were in power were handed an impossible situation to deal with but from the awful over priced track and trace system thanks been a disaster from day one to mixed vague messages Johnson and Co, well, other nations have handled the situation way better. I agree every high profile breach is not a good thing, but when it's your message, your rules, that you are expecting the rest of us to follow, you can't be seen to undermine them which Cummings did fairly early doors and he faced no repercussions for his actions and subsequent lies, this is not to excuse other breaches it's to put it into context. These people represent both themselves and reflect on their businesses , societies, etc... but not the rule makers, it's not their message, not their rules.

I'll try and keep the political aspect to the politics thread which I usually do, it was only when I noticed a snide dig at my expense that I commented, and yeah the Chelsea stuff is just truly pathetic

Wills we will keep this to the politics thread (although sadly they seem to go hand in hand). :emoticon-0148-yes:

FFS be reasonable. How can you expect such an underfunded service, even with its world class leadership, to keep up with the incredible number of cases that we have now, thanks to the irresponsibility of young people and northerners? The system was designed to handle virtually no cases, and when that was the situation it worked nearly perfectly. Indeed you and your ilk were complaining that we had staff sitting around doing nothing! Now you are moaning because we are phoning a few people 60 times each in a day, and the rest never! Jesus Christ will you plebs never be satisfied! We, your leaders, are very busy moving your money around into places where we can look after it for you, please don’t bother us with your petty jibes and impertinent questions.

Covid: Scots told to prepare for 'digital Christmas'

The idea of a normal Christmas is a "fiction" and Scots should prepare for digital celebrations, national clinical director Jason Leitch has said.

The government has insisted that the latest Covid-19 restrictions are having an impact on the spread of the virus.

But Prof Leitch told BBC Scotland there was "absolutely no question" of a "normal" Christmas being allowed.

Measures could be eased if case numbers fall, but Mr Leitch said people should "get their digital Christmas ready".

Opposition politicians said the public would be "devastated" by the news and called for more details.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the government was making "really tough" decisions and would not "tell people what they want to hear to make it easier in the here and now".

Tight restrictions on the hospitality trade focused in particular on Scotland's central belt have been extended for another week as coronavirus case numbers continue to rise.

These short-term measures are to be replaced with a new five-tier system of alert levels from 2 November, although First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has warned that this does not rule out "even tougher restrictions" being imposed if necessary.

Fair play they’re giving you plenty of notice. We’ll umm and ahh over it, Johnson will mumble something in Latin around December 23rd and most of England will just do what it fancies.

I wouldn't mind them feeding a few children whose only hot meal of the day depends on school meals to be honest.

    It wouldn't cost very much.
