I’ve ‘inherited’ a huge amount of family ‘heirlooms and memorabilia’ - including a marriage certificate and bible from the 1840s plus many birth certificates, school reports (1920s and 1940s) I’ve previously listed c50 odd match programmes from 1944-1953 (Man Utd, Man City, Fulham, Swans etc) I’ve also got our two 1966 World Cup Final tickets plus associated memorabilia. I also have a letter written by Billy McCandless to a football scout instructing him to tell my father to travel to Seven Sisters to make his debut for the Swans reserves - it says ‘I’ve told the Reserve Team Manager that I expect young M?????? to play....

Victor , I don't keep a lot as I'm sure when I pass it'll be a burden for the wife to clear out so nothing anywhere near as interesting as you've listed. A Canon 10D digital camera which in 2003 was £1200 new now worth about £50 (technology advancement has rendered it obsolete although it still takes lovely images) A film slide scanner, again technology has advanced My army reserve kit bag full of kit ( combats puttees etc) which no longer now or ever will fit me again. All my kids school books Boxes of football photos of my boys when they were playing All their football trophies ( again boxes of them ,they were all more than decent players ) Most of their games from when they were young Boxes of books on all topics ( I can never throw a book out ) Football programmes from all decades and teams My dads flat cap A Specialised Roubaix bike , not used anymore , maybe one day I'll sell it A box of 45 & 78 rpm records from the 60's & 70's And cobwebs
My grandfather ran the local flix in Llansawel, Dyfed not Briton Ferry way. I got some of the old adverts theses are glass slides that’s put in front of the projectors. Also got two rolls of film, one being Simple Simon, in its original cardboard casing. Have another film not sure what this is, plus some posters. I do have in my garage and I was in talks with the D Day museum but Covid put pay to this a ordinance map of Gold beach showing depths etc and underwater obstacles that belonged to my father so he could navigate his landing craft onto the beach.
Unfortunately my attic space is just full of insulation! I did get a copy of "Daredevil" comic, issue number #1 (1964?) from my Nan's attic many years ago.... the bloody ex-wife nicked it
Absolutely mate, I always wear his medals on Remembrance Sunday. Won’t be able to this year as my sister has them, she went to the anniversary celebrations in Normandy last year and ever returned them to me. I bought a nice poppy last week with the Swans badge on it as well.
Just a bump for Nev. I can well recommend a visit . I went once a few a years ago and managed to visit Tangmere as well. Humbling stuff https://theddaystory.com/
The landing craft exhibit was put in place back August, haven’t had the chance to go and see it. It’s a great place to visit. Still lots of relics around this area , if you go to Haylin Island there are sections of the Mullberry harbour that was constructed for training If anyone does venture down this was let me know and we can have a drink or two.
My Dad passed away last year and I keep his dads medal in my pocket always (dad used to have it in his pocket). Dad threw his own medals away and would never talk about Belize/Singapore/Burma/Honduras ... wish I had the time to ask him again. RIP Dad, I love you and I miss you
In answer to your question Vic, I’ve got JacksAway & Bovi up there messing about with fireworks, the daft bastards
