Not really. There’s a lot of blood and residual gauze that had just been taken off.

I used that line to explain a scar on my chest to all my kids. My youngest recently admitted he believed it until he was around 15.

It's already been established that ****ing with the wrong hand is the best therapy.

Glad you're on the mend GLP, another reason I don't like cycling (apart from being too lazy of course) <cheers>

    Did it November 02.

Shattered my tibular on 4 places mate. Had 3 Ops settings rods and plates plus one when a bone infection which set me back 6 weeks. Some need plates adjusting but you might get lucky. Trick is to go easy and gradually build it back up. I had Intense physio at HRI and at home followed by tons of swimming for muscle waste. Had to go on opiate course for 3 months and had a nightmare coming off them.

    Rain tomorrow...

I’ve ditched the painkillers already - morphine based and the side effects were horrible.

    Glad you’re well recovered :emoticon-0148-yes:

Many celebrate the benefits of morphine, not so good when it gives you hiccups. After my abdominal aneurysm in intensive care the Doc and nurses found it hard to belief but within minutes of hitting the morphine dose button my hiccups started, not good when you have a 16 inch gash across your stomach held together with staples.

Smart move getting off the drugs early if you can <ok>

    Tell me about it.

After the initial surgery my leg was in traction for a fortnight in hospital but as if it’s not difficult enough trying to dump laid flat on your back with a bed pan ...you try it with chronic constipation.

Ended up having the strong laxatives which gives you the trots...Nurse !

Thanks for posting that BT. I too have just left hospital after my second round of surgeries to repair abdominal aneurysms. The first night in intensive care I started hiccuping. For the next three weeks I hiccuped every 5 seconds (20 a minute etc). Sleep was impossible. The doctors/nurses did a series of tests but could find no answer. Their theory was my vocal chords had been damaged when tubes were put down my throat preparatory to beginning internal surgery. No mention of morphine. But I think you've provided the answer.

Fortunately I'm now out of hospital, my hiccups have stopped, and I'm sleeping normally again thank goodness. Thanks again !!

That’s one of my side effects. Didn’t manage a dump in 5 days. I felt dreadful, so just decided to stop taking them.

It took 3 days of laxatives for the floodgates to open.:emoticon-0107-sweat:emoticon-0107-sweat

Lost two of my quad muscles, along with skin grafts after in an accident with a double decker bus in 1982.... Gareth Roberts and Bobby McNeil came to hospital, VIP visit to Fer Ark when I got out....
Ended up working with Gareth 36 years later (he didn't remember the kid in the wheelchair!)...
