the daft thing is Barton would do a good job for us i bet he would have laid into them players yesterday. diamond, Benji, Embleton should have been in the squad long ago AND Mcgeady should have been brought back, i can imagine opposing managers saying oh no Mcgeady again, that's good, and the fact we cannot defend corners, free kicks, stop players getting crosses in, score from two yards out, turn a player, put 3 passes together, put pressure on players, etc.

Parky is hardly regarded on here as a great footballing brain, but nearly everyone on here backs him on his stance with Mcgeady.
A proper manager would have got him playing as part of a team, and made the most of his talents.
He is the best player we have. Its not his fault that the manager doesn't have the bollocks to control his dressing room.

The bloke is a bully. And bullies younger players. And was utterly awful last season. Nothing to do with “tactics”. He just seemed like he only cared about him and the team could go **** itself.

he’s also on a wage which, in itself, would almost .Mac out our salary cap!

he’s far from the player we need at the club. As stated earlier, he’s exactly what we don’t need

Is he a bully tho? Nobody bad mouthed him before the public failing out!
And this whole “he beats a man then beats him again” bollocks, I don’t buy it he’s a great player and has his off days like the rest but he’s still our best player without a doubt.

I’d rather geads then parky here any day.

The thing was he used to "sometimes" beat a man but then, more than often, lost the ball trying to beat him again.
Most people calling Parkinson out for not playing younger players, like Diamond, but then want to bring back one of the oldest players!!!

You can have all the skill in the world but if you don't work as part of the team, you're no use to anyone. That was the problem with McGeady. A change in role might make a difference but that's not going to happen under Parkinson.

I think he did work tho! Can’t remember many times I was pissed off at geads for “trying to beat his man twice” think everyone is remembering his faults instead of his qualities that got us so many points when we looked unlikely.

There were definitely games where he did show what he can do. But I do remember thinking, especially in the more recent games that I saw him play for us, that our momentum ground to a halt when he got the ball.

Aye, he was too slow. The amount of times we'd attack, the ball comes to him and he'd completely stop any momentum was almost criminal. Often Hume would be outside him and instead of passing he'd try and beat his man multiple times. Mind, we're proper **** at the minute so I wouldn't be against him getting a chance, I'm sure he'd be no worse than Maguire often is. Not that he can play until January anyway.

Whether he's a bully or not I'm not sure. He seemed a decent team player when playing with a broken foot. The only thing I've heard about him was that he kicked off at O'Nein about a prank, but maybe there's lots of stuff we haven't heard

Was it Grant Leadbitter at the time saying there was a divide amongst players ?

AM was great at first but it seemed as if he became detached from the team, and like you say showboating and selfish,
Obviously something gone on and probably more will come out from other players in years to come.
One thing i noticed parky said was him making way for younger players yet a year on that hasn't materialised ffs.

As i said yesterday, I don't dislike parky, I'll wait to see if his decision on AM was justified in the coming years but hopefully by then we are back in the premier League and it's just a passing interest on what went on..

It's a shame Parky hasn't done better, like all managers who come in you just want them to do well, unfortunately he hasn't.
    So,

I'm pinning my hopes on Nigel Pearson and super Kev now to inject much needed vigour into the club if this takeover gets over the line.

I wouldn’t be against Pearson and Phillips as I think it would be interesting but I’ve got a little nagging feeling that it’ll be someone that we don’t really know of, someone that’s not British and hopefully the same ilk as bielsa. Either way I can’t wait for this takeover to happen and the miserable Dino emptying his locker and pissing off
