I think I'm done now wiz. This place used to be a fun place to post, about City or not, things got heated lots of the time but it always settled down, apologies were sent if necessary and it was put behind us. I've had massive disagreements with users on here who are still great, and that's good.

But now it's just ridiculous - I can't remember the last time I logged on without one certain user having followed me around and quoted me 2 or 3 times to abuse what's been posted. The second you oppose something there's no debate, it's just straight in with a needlessly vicious post, at a time when we're all probably more fragile than usual. Usually it's okay but now it seems like 5 or 6 against 1, and with the aggravated nature of it, Not only that but what's being written is becoming more and more vile. I'm here more out of habit than enjoyment.

At the end of the day a big part of this forum doesn't like hearing alternative points of view. So why should I keep ruining it? If you're one of those who wants to live in your echo chamber and congratulate yourself on here with other delusionals then that's fine. Thankfully what's here doesn't reflect reality. And in the real world as the years go by, they'll just look more and more stupid.

Long story short, this place should be fun. It isn't.

It's probably for the best for everyone if I stop, I'm sure plenty will be happy. But all I'll say is don't complain that you've been losing users for years, if you're someone who makes the atmosphere so toxic. Unfortunately on occasion that has definitely been myself as well. You are not going to welcome new people here as it is.

Sorry to you wiz for making your life such a pain in the arse on here. Hope everyone here gets vaccinated (especially you onefor!) and is back to having fun early next year. :emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer:

Hes been going down the City ground since the seventies. i know people who went and they were not far right. people who i have known for decades some with mixed race kids!! i know black blokes who went. See the video of the asian kid stood in front of the Cenotaph with a union jack for hours he is far right? its stupidity to say this!! the banners saying we are not far right??

Stop insulting people by calling them racists and fascists!!! Are you the vile poster!! Stop and think what happens when people get called racist and fascist. people are losing jobs over this pc ****. People at the Cenotaph were scared to speak openly because of what could happen to them. that is what the VILE woke left is doing to the UK!! its ****ing wrong!!

They didn’t back the censorship, they had an issue with the person who tweeted about saying it’s wrong to censor it.
This is what Shane MacGowan said last year.
MacGowan previously defended the song in 2019, telling Ireland’s Late Late Show: “I’ve been told it’s insulting to gays. I don’t understand how that works. Nobody in the band thinks that’s worth a second’s thought.”

Just because the organiser was black doesn't stop it being far-right.

Also, I've never called anyone a racist on here. I've never called anyone a fascist on here. Not once.

See what I mean? Perfect example. I had jiffle lying in quoting a tweet from me a couple of days ago, claiming I said something I didn't (which is at least the second time he's outright lied in an argument against me to prove a point, the coward). I've got the above now. You lot keep congratulating each other with your dreamed up lies and have the forum to yourselves as you wish. Enjoy.

Cheers. You've always been a top mod by the way. Always nice and always fair.

Thought I would highlight these 2 comments .. a newbie been on our board for a couple of months. Seems to have a bit of a sense humour and a fear of saying anything! That is a poor reflection to take from our board which has been running for the best part of 20 years? Apologies REMEMBERGOU should I bring you into the spotlight, but they do say a breath of fresh air often does wonders …..

To be clear Rob, I don't think anyone should be, as you put it, 'mauled by ****ing dogs'.
To insinuate some on here applaud it then you should apologise. We've all got kids and grandchildren and know full well the young push barriers.

If any of mine attended a rave breaking the law, dog bite whatever, I asure you I'd tell them it's there fault, not the police.

In any joined up world it does.

What you did was label a protest [not posters!] in Bristol far right. Ethnic nationalists, fascists, the racists etc occupy the far right. In todays less than tolerant Britain the smear of far right will mean damage to people reputations and their well being. Far right - It is a deep insult.

@BCFCRob (@wizered) - just for the record Rob. I know I'm a visitor over here and not one of your board members, but I'd like to make it quite clear that personally, I have no problem with you nor your posts - I'm sure they are expressed sincerely. You are clearly outnumbered in your point of view, but that's just life.

We've had our personal disagreements in the past but from memory they were over footballing matters. None of my business really, but as it's an open forum, here's an outsiders general take.

This particular forum this past 9 months or so has become top heavy with politico/pandemic/mediabias subjects at the expense of football related threads which just come and go - the others keep trolling along being refreshed with new posts on them saying much the same thing as before.

Sometimes when a post is called out for its' content, the reaction can be disproportionate - and that's from both sides. We can all be guilty of it but some bite harder than others.

Please stick around over here Rob and let's chat (argue?) about the main subject of this forum, and that's football good or bad - the other stuff will always be around. <ok>

A valid piece of information there, we are a football forum and open to all whom we regard as welcomed guests and constructive comments are welcomed.

I must admit the content 0f the comment made me think, just out of interest I have broken down the 23 threads showing on the screen as to how they balance out as to football related/ general news content ~

    Subject................................Threads........Replies........Views..
    General News Content........04................1033.............9986

    Football Related..................19..................349..............5095

Interesting figures show as we guessed, a much stronger response to general news but when you consider we are now in our 9th month of Covid 19 and all of it's effects that's understandable, football was closed down for many months, we are not allowed to attend games and it's all very controlled, so interest dips.

I think the subject matter offered via threads is highly favourable for a football forum but members choose what discussions they wish to participate in quite rightly and that is reflected in these figures, as has been said we are an open forum and long may that stay.

Fair point about the massive impact the pandemic and spin off issues have had and are still having on our lives and the consequential number of posts that such threads attract. The earlier football shutdown and now the behind closed doors scenario has bound to have had an impact on the chat, but it's still there to be had - don't give it up.

We don't seem to have the same topical mindset over on the Cardiff board and maybe that's why it attracts many fewer posts generally. We're all mindfull of the situation but most seem to be on the subject of football - both serious and light hearted.

There's nothing wrong with a bit of old fashioned banter either - hopefully it can steer and divert us away from the ongoing health problems - let alone Brexit. <yikes>

If you want to get your mind off the issues and maybe put your fivepennorth in, here's a thread I started earlier this morning - fill your boots.......

A majority of the threads are years old as the mad ****er was lost and time warped back a few years. And thought he would comment on every random thread he could find.

Yes there are 3 that indeed drop back to Nov/Dec 2019, I figured the 3 they replaced were about the same average in size and choice so I let sleeping dogs lay, I can't keep up with jgf2 and all of his antics. <laugh>

At the end of the day, we all have the choice to join in with the discussion or just totally ignore it and scroll on.....we all have opinions, most of the time, who's to say who's right? There's no need to throw ya toy's out the pram just because others don't agree with them!! :emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0103-cool:

I do apologise , un reservedly for being ahead of the game and trying to deflect away from "the morass of repetitive posting" that was sinking into darker places, is now the subject of this "clean up our acts " …. thread. Some of the old threads were 10x better than some of those we have gotten tangled up in nowadays. Put it down to covid, isolation and boredom! Game tomorrow night need 3 points, to prove we are an above average team, so far we haven't put one over on a top 8 yet [ save Stoke who were languishing down the bottom when we played them ]
