thought it was because he was made manager! You didn't renew your ST?
THATS LIFE …. asa moment passes we will never know could it have been any different .. like saying a team could have been 2 or more goals up had they taken their chances! Had they taken that chance then all that follows is different... or ball hits post and rebounds into play … other side race up field and score … had it gone in? well ….. work it out! …. we are never going to know!

    ouch that's a bit harsh!

You have to remember Ashton said [ and SL] at that time, we plan on buying in young players, developing them and selling on, that is the reality of football. Lee is unlikely to have anything to do with that .. they bought players who went into academy / loan system there is half a dozen floating around now!

It's like DH, is he forced sometimes playing Semenyo on the left or on the right or up front when are strikers are off form? If the next time Semenyo plays up front and starts scoring lots of goals do you think DH won't use that tactic again and again if he continues?
To say LJ was forced into playing Reid is ludicrous, Reid was an option, the only thing LJ was forced to do was not play any of his injured players...Such is management for every manager across the world!!

Head coach Lee Johnson spoke about his in-form forward, and specifically what made the Robins boss consider switching his position.
"Satatistics... The particular DNA that I'm looking for in a player.
"It's funny because you're looking at players with attributes not as good as Bobby and you're talking about spending £5 or £6m on them.
"So I'm thinking hold on a minute, let's have an experiment. I spoke to Bobby Reid at the end of last season and told him of my intention

NOTHING WHATSOEVER about being forced into it...Managers experiment..
Hope that clears it up and with no more stupid talk along with waffle being made up!! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Nice one Wiz, I remember that interview being shown but couldn't remember when it was or the contents!!

So LJ went you know what I won’t play forwards costing millions I’m going to play two attacking midfielders instead as centre forwards and see how it turns out!! Then if it turns out well in the transfer window I’ll pull in players who won’t run like the Duracell wind up toy Reid!! Yeah management Johnson style.

This interview was after an earlier 'presser' when he admitted he was forced to put Reid up front.
The interview is classic LJ hindsight making a story to fit, confusing the gullible types with typical DNA bull sh+t.
Amazed some people can't see through the shifty little sod.

    [QUOTE="Redprintt, post: 14370415, member: 1001740" hindsight making a story to fit[/QUOTE]

There has been quite a lot of that in this thread.

Also, I believe Wenger switched Thierry Henry from a winger to a CF, and he had even more millions of pounds worth of talent at his disposal. That didn't turn out to badly, did it, don't see too many Arsenal fans taking issue with that.....Those who were anti-LJ from day dot will never concede anything positive about him, again proven in this thread. The rest of us are more balanced and see his good and bad, and there was plenty of both to be fair.

I mentioned the stats men and an experiment earlier!! Diedhiou Duric and Taylor were injured weren’t they?? So LJ was forced into?? Using Reid and later Patterson and Reid.

There were probably 30 odd players in the squad as well as reserves he could have played instead. Those strikers may have been injured but the choice was to play Reid up front instead of one of the other options availabe to him

Nah LJ gave it the big un about stats and Reid. Nuts to think duric could do what Reid did. Remember lj had gone from tomlin to banging on about LJ six second frenzies and busy bees!! In the link i posted earlier LJ was talking about high pressing through the club and that takes what lj called Duracell wind up toys not 6.5 Bosnians!! LJ signed that Diony the bloke would have struggled to press a button he was so off the pace for 20k a week was it??!
