Yeah I agree it's not easy. I just feel there's no effort from those within football, the only action is from the players protests and it feels like the governing bodies feel that's enough.

Common sense needs to prevail... If the witch hunting continues alongside the genuine then it'll make the situation worse not better.

    Just my opinion

I think it's more frustration than a witch-hunt, this was bound to happen as players become more aware that what they are doing at the start of games has very little impact.

It’s tokenism until it leads to tangible change, I agree. But football is merely reflecting wider society, where people face racism on a daily basis in all its different forms, in literally every sector of society.

You're right of course. I suppose it's just highlighted within sport at the moment. What happened tonight will fuel right wing thinking instead of people understanding frustration fueled by inaction.

I love the way Millwall fans tried to make excuses for the booing last weekend by claiming they were voicing their objection to the politics of it all. Utter bollox. Racists just cannot admit they're being racist... bigoted ****s.

If negru means black then maybe black people...I mean people with Afro’s...no no what I mean is people who kiss their lips when they are angry...I need to find a different way...I’m not very good at this am I

but my point is maybe they and those quickly offended need to educate themselves as to what others are saying...reacting to anything that sounds like nigger...which is not what negru means, is not right and this is why I hate BLM it encourages the bullshit how about educating those it represents...do your ****ing bit aswell instead of acting like everyone owes you something

there’s hundreds of words that have the words or sound like nigger, bigger, pigger, digger, negru, neglect, negative...let’s ****in ban it all

fight the real racism or **** loses credibility

Maybe they have a point...I mean they don’t seem to have a problem voting for black players in their player of the year nominations with about 4 black players having won it in the last decade.

Both teams walked off today. Not just one player, or just black players, not just one team. Both decided to walk.

Talks happened between both teams, the match officials and UEFA representative for 45 min period and there was no resolution.

Sad state of affairs but who knows why they felt so strongly about it. Not until an investigation is carried out so I'll reserve judgement until then.

As some of you are probably aware, I'm a bit of a fan of the old American West, in particular the native American struggles against the White expansion into their traditional territories.

In the South West the Apache and Commanche were the most powerful tribes and many prominent Apaches were also known by the names given to them by Mexican adversaries. Indeed these often took precedence.

Two principle chiefs of the Mimbres (or Mimbreno) Apache sub tribe were 'Red Sleeves" (Mangas Colorado) and "Black Knife" (Cuchillo Negro) ... so you can see straight away why Spanish speakers could inadvertently cause concerns for black people when using the word for black in conversation ...

Conspiracy how? You never heard racists say that?

When I was a kid, there was a cocky little indian kid. We had a little mod **** also, a bit of a thug. I remember on the playground one day, he went up to the indian kid and said "you may be a p*** but you're alright". Same mentality.

What those millwall fans were really highlighting was their own insecurities about the fact black people dared to feel they weren't being treated equally. Their view is, how dare they! That's what they objected to, fck all else.

    course Ive heard that

but I seriously also think that people don’t do politics and protest strongly against it coming into their ‘territory’

just look at the anti politics protestors on here, they are always dropping random posts vilifying the thread as a way of letting their feelings be known

Millwall fans are ****s in general we also all know that

One more for you then my friend. You could become a chief / leader amongst the Apache through bravery and deeds it did not have to be hereditary.

A young warrior who was known as "He Who Yawns" amongst the Chiricauha came back from a hunting trip one day to find the Mexicans from a local town had attacked the tribes camp and had killed his wife children and mother. As was his right he asked for warriors to help avenge his loss and a war party set off for the Mexican town. They hit it as the town was celebrating the feast of St Jerome and killed virtually everyone. The grieving young warrior who planned and orchestrated the attack was given a new name by the Mexicans, who he would go on to terrorise for many years ... they named him by reference to the St Jerome massacre ... Spanish for Jerome is Geronimo. <cheers>
