With the new set up at Sunderland I feel that Bruce in or Bruce out is good for us to talk about but in reality is irrelevant. We now have a board that simple feels business like, in control and set up to take the club forward, everyone from the tea lady to top executives will have to do their jobs or move on.

From the outside it can look a scary place, an unloving place when a man like Short takes over, I have never met a billionaire but I have met a few very successful millionaires, they all have that Short smile. Now IMO this is a good thing and is exactly what we need to move on, at first glance it would seem that its all business and no emotion but that would be a wrong assumption. Watch Short during a game and emotion is there but when his business head comes on then its business that will guide his decisions.

I think he really likes and respects Quinn and its Quinn who will ensure emotion is still at board level but success, winning and progressing will be the final factor that will decide Brucies future. If there is to be a change then it will not be for changes sake, Bruce is a better manager than no manager and until Short has identified and is fairly sure on who will replace Bruce he will stick with what he has.

All that said, does anyone really believe that Short is looking now at the situation, of course not, he will have identified who he wants and will pull the trigger when its the right time, that could be next week or next year but he will have no qualms about pulling it.

So for me its support Bruce until the trigger is pulled but my tipex is ready to change the fist letter on my BiB badge.

Fair comment Syd, we had to come into the real world sooner or later, a football club run by local buinessmen like the Ditchburns, has passed, sad but true, in those days football was a sport for the poorer folk, a cheap entertainment, allowing a brief respite from the hum drum working life, now its business at its fiercest, and unfortunately Quinny is not cut out for that end of the biz. Leeds United under Ridsdale and co, all fans, went for the Euro dream, and look what happened to them. I believe Short is the real deal. still its been a strange fifty years for me, but the future looks bright, certainly a bit more suspense to come. got spare tipex if you run out [ nearly wrote SHORT]

Maybe the ruthless billionaire is finally going to get a grip of his investment..Which is a good thing..After all that is what the club is.

Big changes ahead i reckon, and maybe not only to do with the manager.

Very true mate, and also a time when you could relate to players as one of your own...The likes of Clough and Monty lived in the community, in normal houses in normal streets. Today's footballers almost all live in closed communities that are cut off and apart from the real world, which I for one don't regard as progress...

Travelled to home matches on a bus cos they couldn't afford a car. Can you imagine that - "move down the bus please Mr Rooney, there's a few trying to get on"!

Simple question if we lose our next two which is highly likely. That'd be 1 win in 9 league games, will Shorts trigger finger get itchy?

Quinn said not untill its apocalyptic. 6 points from 9 games would spell Apocalypse now!!!

Yes. Bang on the money. Imagine two more games and "Nil points" from the Luxembourg jury. Apocalypse is looming alright. Wait for the announcement then that "the club is seeking a change of managerial direction," following the recent departure of Niall Quinn blah de blah.

Wherewereyou; there's no greater cynic than me marra. 40+years of complete ****e interrupted briefly by winning the cup in 1973 and the two good seasons under Reid. It's always been more fun when we were ****e. I don't expect a lot but I do think that shuffling in or around the relegation zone with the money we've spent is just unacceptable. The performances this year should have seen the back of Mrs Doubtfire months ago.

Just started my 51st year of it bald. Cloughie's home debut was my first game. Know what though? Wouldn't swap it for the world. ****ing strange, eh? I wouldn't have let him continue this season, either, by the way!!

After 63 years of largely fraudulent bulls**t, I back your thoughts one hundred percent. I will not return to the SoL until Doubtfire is a sad thing of the past. I salute the 5,000 who made that decision before me.

There are some people that will never accept Bruce. The next 2 games don't matter, its where we are at the end of the season that counts, Short will give him plenty of time, read Quinn's statement. Its time to either get behind the team and the manager. If not fair enough turn your backs on everything Quinn has done. We might not like Bruce but Quinn see something in him and that is good enough for me. Without Quinn we would probably be in league 1 now, so I am am going to trust his judgement.

I have nothing but respect for Niall Quinn but if we lose the next two and Bruce remains he's going to have a harder job promoting a second tier club internationally. We are om the ropes now lose the next two and Villa could deliver a devastating blow. Hope I'm proved wrong and we pick up points in the next 3 games.

I hope Short does what's necessary if it comes to it.
