Not a drop of celt in me! My Grandfather was a red head though (which is why I think he might not be my grandfather) Red hair and blonde hair are both recessive, you need to have two genes to be red/blonde. If you have one blonde and one red you get the reddish blonde or strawberry blonde. My father had almost black hair, so he got that from the grandmother, and if my grandfather was the father of my father my father would also carry red hair gene. My sister is pale blonde (but is unmistakably my father's daughter in looks). By simple single gene genetics, my grandfather then couldn't possibly be my sister (or my) grandfather because for my sister to be pale blonde would have to have blonde gene (not red) from both parents. Thats with simple genetics, there is a chance he is still my grandfather though because there are secondary genes beyond the simple colour genes that express how much pigment is expressed. My sister could carry red hair genes but could have a gene saying don't produce much pigment. Chances are he's not my grandfather though. Other hints: My Grandfather was in India for at least a few months during my Grandmother's early pregnancy. Not sure if he were there when conception happened though... Lol My grandparents didn't actually marry until several years after my father was born. That's actually one reason I did the DNA test, I was curious if it would turn anything up.
anyone going panic buying today? I reckon it's now time. Borders closed and 3 days supplies normally available.
I don't know much about how the results of DNA testing are presented, but what is "British" anyway? As mito says we're all mongrel anyway. From the Celts supplanting their predecessors in the first millennium BC to the Romans and numerous European invasions during the first millennium AD up to the Normans - then empire building and being a major trading hub of the world from the C15th onwards must have brought in almost every variant possible. Got any Neanderthal in yer?
Well, I think they look for unique markers in certain populations. It's not an accurate science though. Obviously, I know I have English in me.
C'mon, we know RHC would never jog. Unless someone put a Carling on a skateboard and pushed it down a hill.
Trying to decide what the stupidest article I've seen today. 5 reasons why man Utd can win the league courtesy of football365 Or 10 reasons why you should take a cruise.
I feel human again - we're actually going to have other humans inside our house at Christmas. I'm not sure if we're supposed to leave a door open for ventilation or if that's waived for Christmas. We'll have all the neighbourhood's moggies in if that's the case. Should keep the dog busy.
Windows open mate. its about air changes. in the end who ever is coming wants to have been good as gold for the last 5 days before the day. they ought to keep the mask on as well for most of it
