I would’ve had zero issues with Kane starting tonight if Vinicius had maybe say started against Palace the other week, or even come on in some of the games but having zero minutes and Kane playing them all in quick succession, then playing another 90 tonight, we just know how it’s gonna end. We’ve literally seen it for three years running. I love that Jose wants to win a cup, I just think he could be handling one or two players a bit better to give us more longevity as the season goes on. I fear that at the rate we’re going, some of our players are gonna burn out too early in the season.
I don’t get the Vinicius thing tho thought he would start all these cup games with Kane ready to come off bench if required. He’s looked good from what I’ve seen...can’t expect him to replicate Kane...you can’t have 2 Kane’s on one planet let alone one club but he seems to graft enough to pose a threat in these games so I thought he would have started and given the chance to show us what he can do
Yeah I fear that too but I'm hopeful that Vini will get more gametime in the next few matches and Kane might get some time off.
I'm not turning on Mourinho, just flagging up one of his flaws. Everyone has them...Mourinho in his current incarnation has fewer than most.
The Jose rant about Dele lastnight is poor in my opinion, the flick that Jose is talking about is no different to one that Son or Ndombele try in any game , yes it led to their goal but where was Dier,Sanchez, or Davies and I thought lloris was poor as well If Jose wants to destroy any confidence that Dele has left then he is going the right way about it
Well there's a surprise: they didn't rig the saw to try and have an all-Manc final Leave that for the FA Cup, then...
Moura lost possession against Leicester that led to their second goal. I don't see Jose berating or dropping him. But the difference is, Moura works hard and probably has a different attitude to Dele. I suspect Dele has a sense of entitlement, similar to Danny Rose.
Moura’s definitely someone who should be dropped too. Vinicius could easily be getting chances over him because our formation can alter to accommodate him. Apparently he’s actually played as a wing forward for Benfica too so we could even keep the formation and try him there. Like I said last night, must be so frustrating for him seeing the likes of Lucas and Dele getting more chances when they’re undeserving of them whilst in the games Vinicius has played he’s generally impressed, statistically he’s been good too. Really hope to see more of the guy as the season progresses. Feels like we’ve finally got another striker who’s actually good/ great for what we need.
Dele has always and will always be a touch player and if Jose wants to turn him into a someone who will boss the midfield then you have no chance , no coincidence that Dele's best years were when we had Moussa Dembele bossing the midfield and Dele with Kane up front
I also believe Dele is suited to the "high press" tactics that Poch utilised in the beginning of his tenure. This tactic was dropped and now Dele doesn't fit into our system, and I suspect he won't fit into many other teams' set up either. And yes, I agree Moura is a waste of space too!
I'll put my hand up and say I was wrong. Us v Brentford is actually the least likely tie I was expecting. Happy to be wrong of course. No doubt though that some pundits will mention our "easy route to the final". You know, the same thing that happened to Citeh for the past three years.
So as Lamela returns from his 176th injury, Lo Celso is now confirmed out of the festive period. These Argies, man... To say they’re made of glass would be a huge understatement.
I said when Jose was appointed. We are getting his ''influence'' on the draws. The draws are still rigged , in Jose's favour ( as always ) , and we are now the beneficiary.
