    Winner could be decent (or just well forward? Clearly a chaser I the making) but forget the rest. I see there is a listed race at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day over the same distance - probably attract a similar field?

    It’s funny how people see things very differently. I thought it was a corking performance by the winner, who has developed into a very taking horse who may just add to the Nicholls firepower over fences next season.

    I thought the second and third were pretty good too, given they gave the leader an easy enough time. The second looks a proper staying chaser in the making and the mare looks very useful and could be one for the mares novice race at the festival.
