The Mrs keeps trying to make me go out for a walk. Given I only have one good arm at the moment- I think she’s trying to cripple me completely
Happy New Year everyone and Good Riddance to 2020. I missed departing this life prematurely as a 2-year old when the Luftwaffe bomb aimer hit the house across the street on Fairfax Ave in April 1941 killing all asleep inside and giving me another 80 years so I'm grateful for the extra time. Unfortunately I'm locked down at my sons house in Sussex so will be unable to visit all my Yorkshire relatives as planned later this week. We fly back to LA next weekend but will try again later this year. Hope to see Hull City back in the Championship by then. Best wishes to everyone...stay SAFE and WELL. !!!!
What number fairfax was hit CT? And what house number did you live at? I live just round the corner if you want a pic taking of your old house?? hope you’re enjoying your holiday and a shame about not coming back up to Hull
Happy New Year everybody! We've made it this far so we may as well go the whole way. I hope McCann gets that message across to the players. I've just read his injury update on the OWS. It tells us nothing. My niece has just moved from Fairfax. I had a friend who lived on Ancaster and for a couple of years I lived on Wensley Avenue. For most of my time in Hull I lived on Newland Avenue then my mam decided she wanted a garden.
Happy New Year to all. FU2020. Lets hope that 2021 brings a return to normality for us all. Keep safe and healthy and most of all keep posting, both regular and new posters. All of the love, hope, help and understanding that has been shown on here has been amazing. Little things have made a real difference to many in their darkest days. You should all be proud of yourselves.
Happy New Year to one and all, wherever you may be, good riddance to 2020. Not just hoping for a better 2021, surely it's got to be better?? All the best, stay safe, from a long time lurker. please log in to view this image
Not a good one for ex Tiger loanee Omar Elabdellaoui, injured by a firework he was holding https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-55509045
I believe our house was #68 Fairfax Chazz. I was told it was "the house across the street" that was destroyed by the German bomb killing all of the occupants as they slept, but am not sure what number that was. Yes I'd be interested in a pic of our old house if you could take one. My Grandad who lived up by East Park moved my Mom and I to Beverley the following week as my Dad was away in the RAF. He wasn't taking any chances. Too bad we couldn't make it up to Beverley/Hull tomorrow to see my relatives. Sussex is in Lockdown and we go back to LA on Friday. Will try again when COVID settles down ...hopefully by later this year. You take care
@Chazz Rheinhold I thought you had an injunction against taking photos of people's houses after that 'last incident'... (also if you look closely there's a ghostly figure reflected in one of the windows)

I was just looking at that and about to post the same. I have seen on other sites listings of addresses but couldn't find it now. The link you posted is certainly the easiest to find and use.
That search came about as a result of a pub quiz question. What percentage of Hull's housing was damaged during WW2? I forget the exact answer but it was in the 90's%. As well as the fatalities, it must have included dislodged roof slates and blown in windows, and everything in between.
