Normally we wouldn't be arsed with this game, but given our current form I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp played a near full strength side to give them an opportunity to sort their **** out. Or he might not.
We need to win this, we need a trophy in the cabinet. I am not sure if we are going to retain the title.
catch 22. Do we put out our strongest side as we have another week before the crucial MU match or do we play reserves and kids? Yes, this is a match we’d like to win. If only to keep the wolves away from the door. A loss would heap pressure for the next match and suddenly people will be talking about a potential crisis. On the other hand are we more certain of a win with our strongest side? The confidence and form are with Villa and a full strength side losing again would be demoralising.
Does that really matter? Doubt Klopp and the players will be listening or believing what people say anyway
It will be a mix of youth and first team won't it, match fitness for Milner, Ox, even Thiago for an hour. Neco and Rhys W. etc.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55575321 I'm assuming they will field their under 18s then like we had to last year
Simple - either they field their youngsters or their forfeit. Other teams have had to do the same so no exception should be made. We had to play in the cup last year because the FA didn't like us prioritising the World Club Cup.
Yep it was wrong but they still did it. So if they want to be consistent, then I expect them to apply the same logic. Derby have to field an u18 team, Leyton Orient had to forfeit, Soton were given a bye.
Probably a forfeit then... Just as well, who wants to watch football matches on a Friday night anyway?
When Spurs had a similar problem to Villa in the League Cup they were awarded the tie, so maybe FA will cancel the game and Villa will go through!
