Shut it down now and worry about the rest of the season when covid numbers decline. Is it more important to watch someone kicking a football than the overall health of a country. The same is happening in Canada where the NHL continues to play, albeit under strict rules, saying that the country needs to be able to watch hockey during lockdown for their supposed well being when surely it's all about revenue streams for the individual clubs. .
It is also a relief for people to watch. During first lockdown there was nice weather so watching football to some it’s a relief to being locked indoors all day.
I can really appreciate the good feeling from watching football on TV during these times and I have enjoyed many matches. I have this feeling that by mid-February we could have an impossible backlog of fixtures postponed due to the virus and might lead to a rethink about how, or whether, to continue under constant threat of contamination. We shall see where it takes us but stay safe and smart you all.

Brentford were the latest in a growing list of clubs to see games cancelled yesterday due to the ongoing Corona Virus outbreak. Cripes, words that have actually surpassed ‘Rail replacement Bus’ , ‘Mrs Browns Boys and ‘England Supporters Band’ as the three most soul-destroying in the English language. Following Monday’s latest testing, the Bees have reported further positive results to the EFL and, as such, been asked to close our Training Ground aswell as carry out additional tests. The immediate consequence of this being our own confirmation that we are now unable to complete the games with Bristol City (tonight) and at Reading on Saturday. As is the way, these games will now have to be rearranged. Somewhere. Likewise the trip to Swansea City on 23rd January, although that’s as much due to both clubs involvement in the FA Cup – us with Leicester City and the Swans against Nottingham Forest. This is getting ridiculous now. At the very least an extension to the season is needed. Realistically, we need to call a halt for a few weeks. This is no longer isolated and ad-hoc. Where does health and safety take a priority? Not just of players but all those still involved behind the scenes on a match day. Funny that they still bleat on about us cancelling but now they’ve cancelled football needs to be stopped. We was in contact with the FA and Brentford and it was deemed to be cancelled due to not being able to be tested. When Luton who we played 2 days before returning positive test.
Extend the season if necessary to accommodate the rescheduled games by all means, but for now I’d carry on, although twice weekly testing is a must. If more and more games are affected then maybe think again .
Perhaps if these football players followed the rules there would not be so much covid in the game. Ahhhh they think there above the law.
Its was incompetent. Testing was being done elsewhere. Not every lab in the Country was shut, biocentre front line labs were/are testing everyday with no breaks for tests, and away from football businesses and services took into account the new year.
The season will either be stopped very soon, including the Premiership or the season will be extended. The number of postponed games in leagues 1, 2, National League, plus National Leagues North and South will mean a huge backlog of games to be rescheduled at the rate we're going.
At this rate by the time we actually play Brentford Williams and Walsh will be fit Edit maybe we’ll even have a full squad to chose from
Yes is was incompetent. The FA approved lab shutting over the Christmas and New Year period. If that’s the lab we’ve been allotted then they should of been open for the test.
