Funny how we can see things so differently. Thought young Wes was awful, trying to get too far forward and being caught out of position. Thought we looked much more solid at the back when bone crusher Soyuncu came on. Also, on a different forum, somebody reckoned that JV was the best player on the pitch - agree with you on this - thought he was woeful. Wilf was his usual brilliant self, and two moments of sheer class and simplicity from Youri making killer passes into space. A good 3 points against a good pressing team.
Vardy's was a strange performance. Recently his hold-up play has been much better, but he was back to his old habit of trying to play quick but impossible passes which just gave away possession. He needs to take some lessons from Harvey Barnes - whose composure I've always held in the highest esteem. Seriously though, Barnes has been much more self assured recently. However, I'd still like to see him show more aggression in trying to win the ball back and initiate things.
Excellent win last night, as with Spurs away, you can’t feel comfortable during the game with players of that quality against us, but after the event, looking back, we were so comfortable. Vardy is off form but it’s very reassuring to see the likes of Maddison and Barnes providing. I was critical of Maddison a number of weeks ago but going back to the last minute assist at Sheff Utd and the brace against Brighton, he has been really chipping in which is the player we have expected to see. Got to laugh at Ndidi’s goal, clearly he was going for goal but I’m not sure he would have intended to hit it off the outside of his foot and the post
Just seen it mentioned elsewhere but cost wise 1x Chilwell = a Ricardo, a Castagne and a Justin...wow!
Someone said after the Southampton game after he sent two into row z for goodness sake dont let him shoot again. Obviously they were just practice.
Radio Leicester commentary at the time was funny. Went something like this: "Foxes have a Corner. Barnes.. Ndidi.. goal kick.. No, GOAL! Sorry everyone, I'm just kind of used to saying it when Wilf shoots!"
Vardy out for a number of weeks. Ouch We really do need to be in the market now, after failing to get over the line last season due to injuries, it’d be negligent of the club to repeat this...
A potentially big blow. I'd start Iheanacho in the cup as he has had some success against lower league defenders. I'd save Perez for the league.
We haven't done too badly on previous occasions when Vardy's been out, he had a similar op during 'the' season. It's a blow but hopefully he'll only miss 2/3 weeks and be fully fit for the Europa League games and the difficult end of season run. Even when not scoring himself he creates space for others and is a threat. At least others have been doing well with goals of late.
Game of two halves, thought we were so poor first half, barely troubled them and could have conceded more but absolute dominance in the second. Glad it paid off as I was concerned at the idea of Maddison, Barnes and Tielemans neither getting a rest nor us the benefit of a result. I personally would have used the extra subs to give these guys a break once the game seemed safe though so hopefully they look fresh in the numerous games coming up. Defence is looking good for rotation and cover now but still looking light further up. Perez can play in the hole in Maddison’s place but Youri we’re struggling and Vardy. Would be a really boost to see some activity in the remainder of the month.
Better than first feared, unfortunate just how many games are coming in that next few days! I’ve been pleased with us getting all our games in whilst others are called off as better the points on the board but if there was a time for an opposition to bail it would be the next week or so.... Obviously still not something we want to happen as we need there to be less cases and less disruption.
Dont think our key man is Vardy but it is Tielemans. The guy is in superb form and would be a huge loss should he get injured. Ran the show today
Him, N’didi and Vardy are absolutely key as a trio. I really do think Ndidi and Tielemans will be our next 2 that everyone wants
In fairness, Maddison has looked the real deal in the last few games (singled out by Thomas Franck yesterday) and Fofana and Justin are drawing admiring glances ... can't loses our focus because of admirers... just ensure signed up on long term deals and on competitive dosh ...
What a superb 2nd half. Although Everton didn’t look interested, we completely dominated and will be feeling a bit disappointed that we didn’t take all 3 points. I thought Perez did a lot of unselfish work that has gone unnoticed and Youri was pulling all the strings. Under did well when he came on and must be pushing for a start this weekend.
