Yeah - exactly why I don't go there. Yeah - they need to move them down and closer to the pitch, let the away fans get wet. Or just turn the sprinklers the other way
All very true... or alternate facts... The sun is nice and warm..not like the Antarctic West. A Sunderland golf hat keeps the sun out of your eyes. Lots of cheering, but loud foul mouth non-stop ranting is forbidden, I and many of the ladies and children about appreciate that. Besides which we have been there, done it and got the football shirt...good play and goals get loud cheers. Yep east side where the football cognoscenti reside...
I don't think I've ever sat in the seat I was supposed to, we tend to move around quite a bit during the game ... ... sometimes it's to do with the view, atmosphere or because some miserable tosser is whinging over and over about a particular player.
I have sat in the east stand near the middle for a number of cup games and must admit the view is pretty good.
POMO was asked about having players from our season in the Championship, Ross's players, Parky's players, and now some of his own players. He responded that it is his job to provide clever systems and patterns of play which best leverage the overall capabilities of the squad. I'm not sure the high press is the best fit for the oldest roster in the league. Especially for one so conspicuously lacking pace and power. I'm trying to discern the patterns of play but since POMO has been here the matches look more like ping pong than proper football.
I hope they have paid the bill for the undersoil heating to be on because it's ****ing freezing outside!
Great thread as usual. Thanks again. I fancy a home win but more in hope than being full of positivity. Confidence will have taken a hit after the last game and I think it’s important we get off to a fast start and get the first goal to give them some confidence. We are consistently inconsistent so anything could happen. Fingers crossed home win.
A good marker that we have this home game just 4 days after Tuesday’s debacle. If there’s a big change in game plan and attitude that results in a convincing or big win , then there’s hope that the manager and players know how to improve. Same as tuesday , and I think we’ll need to accept thats all we have. I keep my optimism on the first option and go gir a reactionary 4/5 nil
Dont get me wrong that's a decent team, but I would prefer an extra mid field player in and Charlie on the bench instead of O/9 one of my favourite players but dont see the point of Luke on the bench if, as LJ has said, their is a doubt on his fitness. What does that say to the players that are fit, being sidelined for a player who isn't fit, no matter how good he is ?
Concerned about the midfield today. They play 3-4-1-2 with Josh Vela and Ollie Norburn in the middle. Can see Leadbitter and Scowen being completely overwhelmed and us conceding yet another early goal
Exactly this. Don't like this 4-2-2-2 whatsoever tbh. Our cms aren't good enough for a two, we need three in there.
