I think I’ve just realised how much I love watching Leeds, talking about the wins and losses after the matches and it seems it doesn’t matter that much what division it’s in. More so now, because without supporters in the stadiums, I haven’t been able to sit through a whole game when we’re not playing. It’s just not the same feel.

This should have been our busiest time of the season.

An FA Cup weekend (with maybe ET & Pens) sandwiched between 2 midweek League games against Southamton & Newcastle. Unfortunately we gave it up by disrespecting the FA Cup and the covid postponement has left us twiddling our thumbs. No doubt we'll compound everything by losing against the Barcodes as that's what usually happens after we've had a free weekend and the so called vital extra rest days.

If we stay up and improve the squad then we as fans should campaign to take both domestic cup compettitions seriously. When we the last time we got knocked out playing a full strength side...it's a joke and we deserve better.

Newcastle currently 14/5. Very backable price considering they are at home.

Just to clarify what I mean by improving the squad.

That's so we can play then best team available in every match. If someone gets injured, suspended or loss of form the next best available come in and we treat each and every match the same.

If we stay up, next season will be similar in that there will only be 38 games + Cups...European qualification is unlikely. Does anyone really think that the fringe/squad players who lost to Hull (Carabao) and Crawley (FA) gained any match fitness or enhanced their development playing in hugely weakened teams ?

Oh and another thing...Nketiah looked bang average for Arsenal yesterday and will probably be getting shipped out (no I don't want him). If he'd stayed with us as he should and then gone back and hit the ground running in pre season then things might be different for him. Instead he went back too soon, didn't educate and develop himself further under Bielsa's tutelidge and now his career will likely suffer for that decision.

Twice he convinced Bielsa that he was worth a starting position...

1st time he injured himself after training and the 2nd he decided to f*ck off back to Arsenal a few days later.

What an opportunity he passed up...

To play an important role in a title winning team as well as being part of an historic season for a famous club and becoming a mini legend in the process.

You absolutely cannot buy an experience like that and he chose to throw it away.

I was so disappointed by the team we put out in the cup. The fans needed a cup run as it's boring enough during lockdown.

Amen to that brother wakey <ok>

Could just about handle the starting line up...but having 3 subs planned for HT was a massive step too far.

Indeed it's a long, long time since I was at the twin towers in 72 watching sniffer bury that header, and our dismal record since is shameful, about time we did something in this great competition...will we ever return.....the words "clarke1-0" are folklore

Read an interesting article and interview with Spanish journo who answered questions about so called burn out. He said at first Spanish media said yes because he took a small squad of 18 and they were brilliant in season 1 but fell away to finish 4th. The next season the same players were called the best team in Europe and the media were ridiculed. He made an average team in a couple of seasons the best team to watch and the toughest to beat in Europe. Sounds very much like Leeds doesn't it. Former players were also praising him and the best thing was the fans, who wish he was back there now with their team playing beautiful football again.so low grade football pundits and poor lazy journos do nothing to enhance football.

Phil Hay’s new book about Bielsa has a great title which sums it up. And it was beautiful

    Nope.

And now we can focus just on the Prem, hopefully you can go on "missing" those mid-week games.

Did he choose that path, or was he simply told?

The short time I spent talking to the lad makes me think that he had no choice in the matter. He was polite, quiet, mannerly & actually quite shy. He gave me the impression he wouldn't say boo to a goose, & diligently did what he was told. I agree that an impression is not fact, but for me it goes a long way to understanding what happened - he was told!

Yeh seemed a nice guy when I bumped into him outside the players lounge at ER. Asked him how he was enjoying Yorkshire and he said it was great apart from the strong accents, which sometimes were difficult to understand...said he just ended up nodding and smiling a lot <whistle>

Wonder if Eddie is still with the Leeds blonde he shacked up with? I heard he took her to London? I laughed when he said he loved it in Leeds
