Assuming that West Brom roll over tonight against City, we'll be needing to win this game against Sheff United to go top again. Interesting couple of nights ahead. Good news is United have all players fully fit. Diallo to storm the right wing in a manner not seen since Ronaldo? No me neither. I'd love this to be a convincing win. Keep a clean sheet, control the game and score a few
Thought I'd share this. Our opponents are the ones right at the bottom, on five points. We're the ones who aren't in the pic because we're right at the top. We're at home, I'd expect a three nil win at least. Nothing to do with complacency but everything to do with them being ****e. If we can't be confident in this we may as well just doff our cap to City and retreat back to Arsenal mode and compete for fourth.
No come on, I've not said that at all. But given the circumstances of both clubs what's wrong in saying I'd love to see us win convincingly? Wouldn't we all?
My worry (like most of us here) is that after 2-3 tough matches we think we only need to turn up without putting in the hard graft.
I didn't think the players will be reading this thread but, considering at some point both they and the manager need to get their heads round the fact they are in a title race, oh look out it's Sheffield United, this one could be risky, is probs not the best approach. By all means they shouldn't be saying we're going to piss this, but if we can't confidently state an intention to beat a team that has so far 'amassed' five whole points this season, what the **** is it we're doing exactly? It's completely within reason for a team wanting to win a league to expect to beat a team that is rank bottom of the same league.
No not at all. Funny thing is I'm looking at it as building team confidence. It's ok to graft for wins in difficult games whether that's Wolves or Liverpool, but there's nothing like following that up with a commanding performance and win to build their confidence and self belief. We need that as well.
I agree with both points on this one. We should certainly be looking to win and also help our goal difference in this game looking at the different standings of both teams. That said I have watched Sheffield many times this season and they are nowhere near as bad as their results suggest. They usually come out quite well and look dangerous until they go behind, i honestly think with a bit more belief they could be well clear of relegation, let's hope we don't give them that belief.
Yep. SU win and lose by the odd goal usually. To think we’ll get a hatful is fanciful. Don’t get me wrong.I’ll be overjoyed if we did but first thing first. Winning is the priority Even with a scrappy goal at the last minute. And SU is a better team than the current bunch under Big Sam. We are still improving. And that means staying in touch by getting the wins, by any means.
Did you hear the pre match presser? Solskjaer can't ****ing help himself. The top two have been 'amazing' for the last three years, we're playing catch up, we're doing ok but won't get carried away. All true enough but didn't ****ing say it. You're just giving the team it's excuses before they start.
