Trials are much fairer these days then they were and forensic evidence is much better and everyone does have access to a competent defence. I think there is room for some criticism of the police in that this individual has been committing minor sex offences for over a year before this case in a young student area and this hasn't been picked up on until it has culminated in a murder case and today the thrust of the prosecution was that he was getting out of control. I know its hindsight but there was an actual trail of dildos, knickers and condoms to follow.
As I understand it, the Police didn't seem that effective in the early days of the investigation and had reason to at least have had a word with him in the period before.
He'll admit it all right up to ejaculation, then he'll say he left her and suggest she wandered while upset and in drink, and must have fallen in the river. He knows that's the bit no one saw or can prove.
I always liked the term 'perps' - as used in such classics as 77 Sunset Strip, Dragnet and Hill Street Blues. PS Is it safe to go on the Match Day Thread yet?
Jury member: You've been quiet Mr Rheinhold. What's your take on this? Chazz looks up from his phone and replies.... The forum find him guilty as charged. I disagree of course, but that's what the poll says, so...
I've moved some posts to a new thread so that those conversations can continue, and this one remains for discussions on the OP. https://www.not606.com/threads/jury-duty-and-memory-lane.390086/
