No idea how this is all known. But if this is right, one of the terrifying stats in there is that Will Grigg is on ten times the money of Diamond. Why the latter is still on a canny bit less than me is baffling too. Has he not done enough to earn a deal?
Selling McGeady would be an idea, if we'd get any offers that he'd go for anyway. Not sure he's value for money looking at the calibre of the lads we're bringing in on loan.
BUT and here is the scary thing - nearly every player on there signed before the cap is contributing £1,700 to it. As of next season that doesnt apply. Looking at that we should be desperate to get out of this league and away from the ****ty salary cap - it will massively hurt us next year if we are still in league 1
I doubt that as I would have thought Gooch would be on a lot more with him being a legacy of the premier league years.
That looks like it's been lifted straight from Football Manager 2021 - the positional information is a dead giveaway please log in to view this image
Yeh this is just from football manager which is just best guesses. It looks relatively accurate you'd have thought, although I'd be shocked that Grigg isn't on even more than that.
I read that the £1700 is for the duration of the existing contracts, any extensions or new contracts count fully
this is correct. any contract signed before the date this came into effect (august) counts as average for the duration of that contract, even next season and beyond.
needs smart recruitment. we'd definitely have beeen ****ed without KLD - but that's more to do with his desire to do things properly than his money.
Yes, I think that's a massive problem. It won't apply to us where we are going though, there's no salary cap it the Championship
I've just read that severance pay doesn't count towards the salary cap so we can pay Graham off without any impact on our wage bill
We could still get under 21's and pay them a decent wedge as they don't count. Get someone who is 19 and they won't count for two years. Regardless of what division we're in I think we'll have a good chunk of transfer business aimed at this type of player, quality youngsters who want to be playing first team football.
