It's great to see Armstrong and KWP back. Forster; KWP, Bednerak, Salisu, Bertrand; Armstrong, JWP, Romeu, Djenepo; Adams, Ings.
Is Djenepo fit? I would play him or Redmond on the right and Armstrong on the left. If we play Salisu I expect him to play left side which would suggest he is partnered on the right by Stephens.
If we win this one, then get lucky with the draw, we have a great chance of making the semi-finals. Bournemouth are through and Sheffield United play Bristol City today, so you'd fancy us against any of those in the quarters. Otherwise, you'd imagine that City, Leicester and Chelsea will join United in the draw. Spurs play Everton so one of those will be gone.
My preferred final win would either be against United (for the League Cup final and because they're ****ers) or Spurs (because they're ****ers).
My pick of the two above is because it'd be the best possible revenge for 9-0 / 0-9. Not that I'm getting carried away or anything!
I don't believe Armstrong is back for this game, but that he is back in training presumably means he might be available for Wolves part 2. Which means it's likely that we will have Djenepo and Redmond for this one, with Tella also an option. Shame Minamino is cup tied, but at least he will be fresh for Wolves part 2 and potentially could be paired with Armstrong for that one.
All he said on Armstrong was that he was “better”. No one asked specifically if he was fit enough to start, so Ralph might just be keeping that card up his sleeve for now.
I'm not going to look further ahead than the Wolves game at the moment because quite frankly I have no idea who's going to win. Nerves are picking up already.
Agree with Tom, we can't look too far ahead, this game will no way be easy. In fact I am not looking any further than 18 May 2022 when with lift the Europa League trophy at the Ramòn Sànchez Pizjuàn Stadium after beating Sevilla 2-1 in their own back yard.
Your will power is much stronger than mine. I'm looking onto May 2023, when we beat PSG in the CL final (thanks to qualifying due to our EL win), and then onto May 2024, when we win the PL (thanks to all the squad additions made with the CL money and prestige), and then onto May 2027, when we become the first English top flight team to win four consecutive titles. All grown out the acorn of winning the FA cup.
Well, Ladies and Gentlemen (and Fats). It's match day!!! Good news is that the title is wrong and it is a 5:30 kickoff! That is 12:30PM EST. The CEO & COO of my company have a 1PM meeting and demo tomorrow (well today) that i have been helping them prepare for most of the day. ME: "Oh would you like me on this one" THEM: "No, No7, it's ok, you've helped enormously today and worked late. (Just finished at midnight GMT after starting 10am GMT). You can come on the Friday call with the UK company...it is an early start though, 10am" ME: "Oh don't worry I am up at 9am GMT most days" THEM: "No it's 10am EST" Now if only tomorrow's game would be as plain sailing. If Carlsberg did meetings.......
All the trauma of the last 10 days could be swept away tonight. Football could become a thing of joy again. I’m normally pretty philosophical on matchdays, and willing to let fate take it’s course, but ffs Saints, win this one...
Given our recent form wolves are favourites but the FA Cup is all about upsets. So we'll win this and draw on Sunday...
Does Jankewitz’s red card rule him out for this one, or is it just the League? If available I would think Ralph might try to integrate him back into the squad, even on the bench, sooner rather than later.
