Fair enough Bri...I should remember that you think it was time for Poch to go, my bad. Now I wish you would accept that there is no formation in this world that is going to utilise every player to play at their peak and there is nothing that is going to improve the likes of Sissoko and Winks as footballers...none. You go with one of a few formations and the talent of the players usually shines through. There is no chance in this world that our defence is a defence ready to challenge at the top and every time we play anyone half decent and go toe to toe...our defence lets us down. We can’t put that down to formations
of course it does the year we finished second we had the best defence in the league. so a good defence is important and ours is absolute dogshit
A lot of posters on both side of the JM debate have different opinions too. I couldn't give a toss about what he did at other clubs. IMHO (and I said this from day one) I believe he is out dated. I think that was the case from after he won the title in 2016. He won the EL at united but the football was awful. But he failed to get that team into the top four in 2017. He lost the fa cup final to Chelsea the following year and his final month's at United were a total car crash as was his final 6 months at Chelsea. Managers like players lose it. And in my opinion he has lost it. I have enjoyed the last 2 games cos we tried to play football. I will have no issue if he goes all defensive v City but will continue to complain if he doesn't attack v villa, Burnley, Sheffield United West ham, arsenal etc etc.
Oh yeh I agree mate. Be sure to remember that next time Vvd and Gomez is mentioned as an excuse for us being ****
I agree that a lot of our players aren't good enough but where Jose also needs to take blame is that he's persisting with these very same players. Why does Toby, Sanchez and Dier start games between them all yet Tanganga doesn't get a sniff, whilst Rodon has had just a few sparse starts? Why not give Tanganga and Rodon 10-15 games together, can they honestly be any worse? Plus at their ages the more games they play the likelier it is they improve. The other three won't improve on their current level and that current level is awful. Same in midfield. Why wasn't White given more game time in Europa instead of someone like Winks? Likewise Clarke on the wing? Alfie Devine came on and scored on his debut (granted against poor opposition) yet hasn't been seen again. Why don't we tap in to our academy more and give them chances, they legitimately can't be any worse than what Winks, Bergwijn, Lucas etc keep churning out week after week. I really do think fans would be far more lenient on Jose if he was showing the intent to change the personnel but he's just persisting with those who are constantly letting him and us down - just as Poch did towards his end.
Can’t deny that Spurs players dive, every club has its offenders. Dele last night was not a dive though. Never a pen either but you could literally see his leg colliding with the defender on the replay as the commentators said there was no contact.
Which is certainly more than you can say for their penalty. It was nice of them to give the VAR bloke the night off, though.
Didn't watch it mate, all I know is Booked for diving this season Spurs have We ain't. And that cracks me up when you got the hbics and vimhawks of this world who think butter don't melt when you have a spurs shirt on. Gold that is
You're proving the point that people are making. Alli gets booked, Salah gets a penalty. Your cheats don't get punished. Neither do Man Utd's.
The problem isn't the defence, though, it's the midfield The year we finished second we had Wanyama & Dembele controlling the game from the middle while we were also pressing high up the pitch, so our defence was mopping up whatever got through instead of doing the brunt of the work At the moment our defence is doing the brunt of the work as our midfield isn't controlling games and there's very little pressing high up the pitch, and it definitely needs a Kante in the middle to regain control in midfield because that part of the pitch getting overrun is affecting both our defence's ability to sleep without a couple of stiff drinks and our forwards' ability to remember what the ball looks like
Or Alis a diving **** and mo gets fouled all the time. Deles Yellow card says I'm right and youre wrong. But it's you bro so even in the face of a yellow card of disgrace it's still not your lots fault. Youll Blame anything else but your as bad as everyone else when it comes to the dark arts
You haven't even seen it. You're still to scared to watch football after the mauling you got off City.
I saw this... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.eu...le-earns-a-penalty_sto6512798/story-amp.shtml DELE ALLI BOOKED FOR DIVING AGAIN, BEFORE TOTTENHAM GIVEN TWO DISPUTED PENALTIES AGAINST LIVERPOOL And this one
He also managed to get that United team to finish second because as **** as they were their defence was still better than ours and still he wanted a CB he wasn’t given. I’m glad you enjoyed it me personally I would have enjoyed it more if we won 1-0 and got the quarters
One thing that would help is if our CB pairings made sense For example, in games where we're expecting to be on the front foot such as West Brom we certainly should have one of Sanchez or Tanganga on the pitch as they're both capable of starting moves on their own instead of palming the ball off to Hojbjerg or the nearest FB On the other hand, in games where we're expecting to be sitting back we need battlers and people with aerial ability like Rodon or Dier as they're better suited to backs-against-the-wall defending Of course the issue is that both of these really need Toby alongside them, as his chipped balls from the back are effective in both scenarios in the way that aimless hoofs aren't useful in the former or dunderheadedly trying to play out of the back are lethal in the latter - but Toby isn't the CB he was 3-4 years ago Yet the thing is, the pairings don't make sense. Sanchez was a bad call for last night as we expected Everton to get a lot of the ball just as Dier and Rodon were poor choices for the Sheffield United match, and picking three CBs is exacerbating this in some cases as we often have two out of three CBs who aren't the best choice on the pitch
please HB don’t tell me the defence isnt the problem. Hojberg on his own in the middle isn’t enough and yeah the midfield contributed to their goals yesterday. We can’t escape from the sprinkling of mistakes by individuals in the back line that we are provided most weeks and it’s their for us all to see that we need to upgrade.
