This whole conspiracy theory about Ehab plotting to keep us out of the Championship is based on the "logic" that he's actually capable of planning something like that. Isn't the incompetent leadership that we regularly see from him rather more likely to be the reason we're in League 1, rather than some sort of work of evil genius plucked out of a John le Carré novel?
Hanlon's razor is a principle or rule of thumb that states "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity".
Dirk Kuyt in today’s Dutch news that he has just finished his coaching badges and looking for a first club to put it in to practice.
Our 'lame ducks' know what to do, and have done it up til a couple of weeks ago. They just need a goal and a bit of confidence, and not to be crucified by the so-called fickle support.
Do you believe our "lame ducks" are even aware of this self-important, influencial site, or give a toss about the so-called "fickle folk"? As you say, just a scruffy goal should do it. That bit they are well aware of.
Yeah, in fact I know for a fact they do, and the more of our squad that have local links, the more the criticism is felt, and the more it's passed on to the rest. Not only that, there's a reason the club have press officers to mitigate the public scrutiny of manager and players. If public opinion had no impact, there'd not be a chairman in the land wasting the money on the role. And every manager since Peter Taylor have taken personal issue with what local pundits have published/broadcasted in order to protect the squad's confidence, resulting in personal phonecalls. Bury your head like an ostrich if you want to, but just like we can be a 12th man when supportive, we can destroy that same confidence when overly critical, especially amongst the younger players with local ties we really should be championing. We contibute to the narrative whether you like it or not. It's not the 1970s anymore.
It was a simple question. If your insider knowledge is genuine, it is interesting to hear your input. That's why I asked the question. Ostrich can't ask questions. There is a lot of bull spoken on this forum about being in the know, as you are well aware of.
I'm not in the know specifically in relation to the current city setup, but have access to a couple of ex joourno's/players and a couple of players coaches and scouts currently active at different clubs. Generally speaking players are more than aware of fans opinion on sites like these and on the other major platforms also. If you were a player with access to media, wouldn't you be reading it? You'd be naive to think they wouldn't.
I may well be misinterpreting your comments, but shouldn't these payrolled/contracted press officers be drilling into young players (and indeed more seasoned players) that they should ignore negative media? There's enough negative criticism on this very site to warrant rebuke. Is there any communication twixt club and forum admin? Negativity is a fact of life, but it can be avoided if appropriate advice is given and heeded. Or legislated against if too damaging. It would sadden me if the so-called "fickle fans" (oxymoron embedded therein) get to the players to any significant degree, as it would suggest the gatekeepers are failing.
Human nature dictates that if your daily performance at work was publicly scrutinised on a weekly basis it isn't always going to be helpful psychologically. In. One sense you're right though and some players will deal with it better than others. 'Fickle fans' is more a reference to the fact that a player can one week be a hero, and the next a zero, but I do think City fans can be more fickle than others, and that shows in the attendances - selling out in L2 when on the up and struggling to fill 16k in the prem after a few losses.... Its nothing new dating back years - maybe a contributing fatctor as to why potential investors ended up looking elsewhere....? One of the problems with a young squad and inexperienced manager is the extraneous bullshit isn't going to be as well handled individually. It is what it is, but we can make a choice to be more measured sometimes, I feel. Having the right to speak your mind doesn't always mean doing so is going to be conducive to achieving what we're all hoping for.
Selling out in L2 - No live TV coverage. PL attendance drop - plenty of TV/cable/internet TV coverage. Fickle financial reasons. Coupled with general economic reasons. Let's not introduce COVID into the equation. Potential investors evaluate potential indeed. Historical pedigree & fanbase potential are major factors. HCAFC have a very shallow recent history in these factors. Plus intransigent, almost clueless owners. "It is what it is" is the most platitudinous expression in vogue. I presume your 3rd last & final sentences are agreeing that the gatekeepers are failing?
Let's hope potential new managers and players don't read it then. Especially when this is the sane and rational fans site compared to the raving lunatics on other sites.
There is someone on here who used to definitely give 90% accurate information on here. I know this because I used to go to work the next day and on the back of what he'd said, I made predictions. I've got to admit, I played on that and people would say weeks later "how the **** did you know that? From a good bloke on a City forum is all I replied. You don't give away your sources, because if you do... Well they won't be your sources anymore. FACT!
Edit : Oh and this very same person said they don't read these posts. For myself, I do have to wonder why would they? They have girls to shag...
