I watched his pre-match press conference on the new Saints app and the message I got from it was that KWP joins Diallo and Walcott on our injury list, rather than another injury on top of KWP. Not sure if you're referring to a different press conference where he said more/different.
I just watched both parts of the presser in full on the OS and at no point did Ralph mention injuries to any player other the the 3 he specifically named: KWP, Diallo, and Theo are definitely out for this game, but in Ralph’s words, “that’s it”. Edit: @Saints FC 76 got there before me.
In which case the summary video that Saints posted on facebook is very misleading the way they have cut it. I linked it and quoted a section of it word for word that very much makes it sound like we have other issues and at least one other player will miss the weekend. Obviously will be delighted if that is not the case.
Yes I agree, that’s weird how they cut the part where he names the three injured players that we already knew about. Very confusing, and a black mark against whoever put the Facebook video together.
Didn't see that one but did not Saints beat Chelsea in their first season in Div1 6-2 at Stamford Bridge? Memory tells me it was something like that.
Not the first season, but the next one. I was on holiday in Cornwall with my parents at the time and my dad turned the car radio on to get Sports Report. One of the headlines was that there had been an outbreak of crowd trouble amongst the home fans “after Southampton’s 5th goal against Chelsea”. Always remember that! 4 goals for Ron Davies and 2 for Martin Chivers, with both Chelsea’s being scored by future Saint Peter Osgood: https://www.11v11.com/matches/chelsea-v-southampton-02-september-1967-79365/
Great thanks, I know I got told off by my girlfriend (my wife now for 52 years) because we had been to a wedding and were seeing the couple off at the Central Station when I saw the headline and rushed off to buy the Football Echo! Talk about being ecstatic! Some team that strings being pulled by Terry Paine and John Sydenham often making full backs look like a bit stupid etc. Chivers had a formidable shot on him and then Ron who seemed to grow wings climbing for a cross to head in!
Is Giroud in or out? If the former we'll need to score at least two goals to have chance of winning this match.
I know what you mean. But I suspect we'll need to score at least two in any event. Assuming that we don't turn to Mr Clean Sheet.
