Chelsea have beaten Spurs, Burnley, Newcastle, Sheffield, Fulham away, plus a couple of European games, so a draw with a weakened team is a decent result.

 

I think they’re one of the best teams in the league, and will only get stronger. Nailed on Top 4 imo.

 

As per my post earlier I'm far from convinced by them. He'll be gone by end of next season.

 

Yeah was never a red, Kantes maybe a yellow but the ref had a good game I thought

 

Chelsea winning the league next year then

 

It's really uplifting to see a turnaround performance, let's hope he continues to gain confidence, because if he does and is directed the right way, he could be a game changer at some point.

But, exactly my point (if slightly incorrect) - Alex really wasn’t troubled that much .... now I suggest he dives left fir the next penalty!

 

Totally agree. As I mentioned, I didn't think that they looked like scoring at all, other than their pen.

 

Salisu looks like he could be a very good player doesn't he?

 

I did say something about him having a lot of potential and we just needed to be patient....

He could win the champions league and still be gone by the end of the season, getting sacked by Chelsea doesn’t mean much.

That’s still a very strong squad, which Lampard didn’t really get the best out of. Early signs are that Tuchel can. Kante today was back to being the engine that drove both Leicester and Chelsea to the title.

 

Yep, never understood why Frank didnt play Kante much.

I was saying to my boy today, Frank seemed to try to make too many changes too early squad wise, whilst discarding some major players. I think there could be a decent manager in there, and hopefully he will learn from what we all thought would end in tears at Chelsea.

 

Patience isn’t a word Saints fans have that much of I’m afraid. Very quick to jump on the negative of players, but yes he does look like a player to me. Fingers crossed that he gets plenty of support to develop.

 

Bit in bold is the bit I disagree with. They have plenty of the ball but hardly create anything. Less of an issue against likes of Sheffield United and Burnley but think he'll get found out against better sides. They only managed one shot on target against a championship side.

Guess we'll see.

 

Great point today. The highlight for me is the lack of 10 pages of general arguing and drivel on here! Amazing how quickly a match thread comes to a close when we’re all happy with the performance!

 

Not sure if I’d choose a cup tie to be the game to judge them on really, but yeah, we’ll see.
