Somehow I can't see Man Utd coming in with any hefty bids for any of these 3 in a hurry..

Not sure why there are so many wanting to beat up KLP recently. To be slotted into the category which includes 'Bruce was lucky to get us to the FA Cup Final'.

Is 'preferential treatment' the bullying a young kid into submission to sign a new contract? Pre 'that' preferential treatment his figures were 10 appearances, total 792 minutes, goals scored 5, on average every 160 minutes.

Since the contract **** show look how his figures have changed. Connected? Possibly. And compare to how Birmingham City treated one of their own, a 17 year old with similar attributes to KLP.

Is the drop off in teams results also linked to that unsavoury episode? (as well as having 3 in midfield more often than not having to do more and more running and them now suffering physically).

I don't want to 'beat him up'. I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of when Magennis or Eaves constantly miss chances compared to KLP, despite them now having very similar seasons, and if anything, Magennis has better stats.

If KLP wasn't from Hull, he would be getting similar slating, which, in my opinion, NONE of them deserve on the level they get.

So are you ‘cool’ about about posters like ‘McKechnie Orange’ using language like he does i.e. ‘You ****ing ****’ & ‘****er’ coupled with ‘physical threats’ such as ‘You wouldn’t say that if you were stood in front of me now’ towards other posters without ‘challenging’ that sort of post? Yet you ‘threaten’ me by suggesting I’m ‘...on the verge of being removed because you are just provoking argument’?

Jeez. I think it’s time you got your priorities in order.

Just as an afterthought, I’ve just noticed that from my 22 posts I’ve received 11 likes. I might be ‘poking a stick’ (tongue in cheek in the main), but I think you’ll find I’ve neither used foul language or ‘physically’ threatened anyone on this forum. So seriously I’m now interested in your thinking. If you had to make a choice between removing me or ‘Mck foul mouthed bully’ from this forum, who’d it be?
I hope that was as calmly & as reasonably put an argument as you’d looked for.

I was just wondering why you're here. Is it because you don't like Hull City?

If so that's just fine with me, that's why NOT606 exists. You can have banter with fans of other clubs and it's all good fun, it's natural for opposing fans to have a dig at each other.

Or is it because our board has a lot of content, a lot of posters?

    Call it a mini survey.

Edit : I've just checked and there hasn't been one single post on Doncaster 606 this year.

    Maybe you're just bored?

10 of those likes are allocated by the system if a first post is accepted by the site invigilators.
No idea who was pissed enough to give you the 11th like.
How's your defense coming along on the alleged charges?

I agree, KLP has been poor recently. As bad, if not worse than Magennis, and Eaves when he's played.
To me the difference is not so much that KLP is 'one of our own', but that's he's still a young lad learning to play in a man's league, a bit like the transition that Bowen went through in his breakthrough (calendar) year. We see real potential in KLP, and it worries me that he isn't being coached, developed, nurtured well by McCan't. I see next to **** all in Eaves, and Magennis is bang average (to be kind), and neither of them are likely to develop much further, especially Magennis. That's maybe why KLP is getting cut more slack? But he either needs to start showing signs of improvement soon or else be taken out of the firing line for a while (maybe an impact sub role for the next 12 months of his development .... but err weren't we all calling for him to start !!! ).

    Experience.

    KLP 20, 2 clubs 64 apps 10 goals.
    Magennis 31, 8 clubs 429 apps 76 goals + 58 apps for NI and 8 goals.
    Eaves 29, 10 clubs 306 apps 76 goals.

It appears to me that the only ex-pro forward KLP has had to coach him (albeit briefly) was Fagan for a year.
M & E have been around sufficient clubs with ex pro forwards to have gained the experience KLP is lacking.

Q the 'yeah see what Chillo did for Big Billy' but also remember Deano and Campbell. KLP lacks that.

In addition as a young lad ( same goes for Greaves ) they are playing pretty much week in week out, performances are going to drop without rest.

Danger is that as a real prospect KLP is in danger of becoming a run of the mill forward that does the rounds and by the time he's 29 / 30 will have played for numerous clubs and made a decent living from the game, much like his fellow strikers. It could be so different and perhaps he may just get to a Bowen level.

EDIT - was thinking of how Foden has been managed at Man City, and way back when he started Giggs at Man Utd. Both 'similar' types to KLP, but neither were played week in week out when they started, despite how prodigious they were at similar ages.

Wayne Brown was a run if the mill centre-half but made Turner into the player he was....

There's enough young talent in this squad, but the only experience we've brought in is Smallwood. There should be at least one senior pro with a depth of experience in every department of the squad. Smallwood gets injured and the knowhow in adversity is severely lacking.

There's a soft underbelly to us as a result.

Yeah on a good day we can handsomely beat anyone in the division, but the times it isn't quite clicking you need a spine to any promotion side that can grind out a result.

Surely Magennis is the experienced one in the striker department? GM suggests he's like a father figure to KLP and Wilks. I agree Magennis has limitations but not sure the argument holds water. I'd agree we might benefit from more experience at the back. Up front I just think we need more quality and more options.

There’s nothing wrong with our back four. There’s nothing wrong with our midfield players.
there’s nothing wrong with our forwards.
There’s nothing wrong with our goalie.

    it’s the manager stupid

Yeah, Magennis is, and we missed him first half last night. Honeyman perhaps too, I was thinking more in defensive areas when coming under the kosh a bit. You need more than just 2 or 3 in a squad of 25 or so.

I don't disagree, but the manager seems not to like vocal challenges to his authority that a contingent of experienced players might bring.

It's not the system either. As we (now) have the players to play it. It's leadership on and off the pitch that brings consistency.

Ok, I’ll play along with your mini survey.

I’m a Doncaster Rovers supporter so I’m ambivalent in my feelings towards other clubs, with the exception of Weeds United, who I have a genuine loathing for.

Why am I on this forum? We happen to have played one another recently & as I sometimes do after a game, I thought I would have a look at how the game & result was perceived by our opponents supporters. I took exception to the general tone expressed by some posts, I took exception to McCann’s take on the game (& of course there is history with how I feel generally about him & how he ‘carries himself’), so I thought I’d register to join the forum (I was surprised how easy it was) to ‘throw some bait’ amongst the posts, in what I felt was in a ‘gentle, teasing manner’, to see what might ‘bite’.

In general I wasn’t surprised by the responses, in fact I got exactly what I suspected. Again ‘in general’, I found a forum of posters who feel they don’t belong in League1, are too good to be playing ‘the likes of’ Donny, Lincoln, Ipswich etc. Well I’ve got some bad news for you, you are a League1 club. You have no ‘immediate right’ to be anything but a League1 club, ask Sunderland fans. 4 years ago they were in the Premiership, they are currently ‘enjoying’ their 3rd season as a League1 club.

So I thought I’d come on & ‘pop a few balloons’. I’ve particularly enjoyed joining in with the ‘Get rid of McCan’t’ posts & true, I’ve been somewhat ‘mischievous’ at times & my ‘stick prodding’ has clearly hit a nerve with some & if I’ve ‘scored some points’ for what you’d no doubt call the ‘minnows’ of the footballing world, then my work has not been in vain.

In summing up, you’re all in ‘my football world now’. And if you decide to ‘ban me’ because you’ve not enjoyed this ‘upstart’ telling you how it is, having some banter, blowing smoke up your arse as opposed to kissing it go ahead. Then you can all stick your heads back in the sand where it’s cosy & warm & no one interrupts your thread (no pun intended).
