Talk about trying to ruin a young player before they’ve even got started...

 

4-0 FT. Some positive signs going forward, but the defence didn't cover themselves in glory, again.
Alli and Lamela were both very good, Vinicius took his chances well and the midfield controlled things pretty well.
Bale's cameo goal was superbly taken and we're through to the next round. Need to attack more in other games.

Good professional win that, easy opposition though, especially when Dier’s able to keep a clean sheet. Nice to see some youngsters get a run out too.

Impressive display from Dele though nonetheless and easily MOTM. Should be enough to get him in the XI for Burnley along with Bale, Kane and Son. So with that said I expect Sissoko RW and Lamela in the 10 .

Vini doing all he can too to remind Jose he is actually a decent striker.

 

One thing I will praise Mourinho for is giving these youngsters minutes in a European competition.

 

I’d imagine the club must have an option of a further year or are in talks with Lavinier to extend his contract (maybe already have with no announcement?). Only joined on a one year deal, Lillywhite Rose have praised him at times this season and to be making his first team debut it’s hard to imagine we’d give this to someone we weren’t keeping around?
