Max & Emi are probably at their peak value at the moment IF we go up and teams like Bayern come in with £30m and huge salaries I can see them going .

Skipp will probably be on the fringes of the Spurs first team next season.

I hope I'm wrong but £60m could bolster the war chest somewhat.

Of course I would rather they stay especially Buendia he has been amazing for us it's no coincidence that we wobbled when he was suspended.

Pretty sure he left Argentina as a child to play in Spain so he is extremely driven and is destined for Champions league football.

For you and virtually all on here Hairy, with the possible exception of KIO and one or two others, my question was rhetorical. But in the great scheme of things NCFC, how this happy little band of the eternally contented feel is of small importance.

Robbie I appreciate you may just like winding people up, but as you would know the band on here are most certainly not eternally contented, but they do prioritise attractive football over nominal position in the football hierarchy (when the reality is the best expectation is likely around 7th, in the most incredible year)

Who would suggest that we would ever say otherwise? Yes, there are occasions when we jokingly point out the coincidence of DF doing something suggested on here. We'll leave it to you to report precisely what is going on in "the great scheme of things NCFC". I'm happy enough with casual banter and suggested possibilities about things on and off the pitch without ever having to take myself as seriously as you seem to need to do.

Guys, guys! How about referring back to post #87 on this thread where, in response to DHCanary and the follow-up post from Rick, I raised what I intended to be a perfectly serious question about the sustainability of the club's current strategy of sustainable yo-yoing. To quote:

"Personally I think it's a mistake to believe that yo-yoing is realistically sustainable beyond a certain point. "We are yo-yoing" has a promise that "This -- i.e. 2014/15, 2018/19, 2020/21 -- is as good as it gets" does not."

Because I think the club hierarchy are aware of the problem, I added that I "expect far greater determination to stay up this time round, with a matching commitment of resources", comparing this next time with last season, when "determination to stay up" went no further than giving it our best shot with what we had.

Duncan then did what Duncan does and jumped to the conclusion I was advocating gambling the club's future on a possibly futile attempt to stay up (which I was not suggesting at all). And when I tried to point out that it isn't just us on here who have to happy with a future of yo-yoing and subjection to the dispiriting experience of repeated relegation that goes with it, everybody takes it as a personal attack on themselves! When I asked "for whom" yo-yoing is fun, I had in mind e.g. the players, the staff, and the fan base as a whole.

Footballers are in the game as a career and the benefits it brings. Even if we go up we still have to accept that if an established Premier League Club come in with a decent offer and, more importantly, quadruple wages for Aarons, Buendia and Cantwell they will be off. If we do go up there is also the strong possibility that DF and SW will be head hunted as well. If we don't go up then the consequences could be quite serious both short term and long term. The gap between the Championship and the Premiership is now a gulf and even spending £100m does not guarantee survival. We already know that the Premiership relegation fight next year will be between the 3 Clubs that go up, Burnley, Brighton and Palace and there is nothing we can do but accept that reality. The best we could hope for is a second year in the Premiership but we will still be forced to sell players if the offer is right and the money obtained for being in the Premiership and player sales will have to be used to protect us financially in years to come. That is the brutal reality and I'm afraid that fans will have to used to accepting that staying in Championship with, hopefully, frequent promotion challenges is the best we can hope for.
The face of football in England has changed for the future. Whilst we have enough powerful Clubs to ensure we do not join European Leagues where only two or three clubs can win the prizes we do have 12 Clubs - 13 if Newcastle get a new owner - who are big enough and wealthy enough never to fear relegation again. This leaves 7 places, which could become 5 if the top clubs have their way and get the size of the Premiership reduced to allow more European games. To stay up any promoted side has to adjust to Premiership football quickly and over the season accumulate more points than the likes of Burnley, Brighton and Palace and it is becoming more and more difficult which is why the current bottom 3 all went up in the last two seasons and 3 of the smallest Clubs in the Premiership came down last season. People used to go to matches for the day out and the entertainment value. Perhaps we need to go back to that rather than continually demanding success.

How much would it cost to increase capacity a Carrow Road. I'd be very happy to spend very little on players if we went up, if it meant increasing capacity at Carrow Road.

Well argued 1950, but I think there's something in all of us that wants to see long term development and success as a result of it, but success can occur in many different ways. The way our club is managed has been a success for the last four years. We've upgraded the academy and brought on many young players who are coveted by the biggest teams for big money, creating a self financing mode of existence. That's a win for us and the young players who get first team football early in their career and attract interest from big clubs. That's a win-win for us and for them as both develop.

If we're promoted we'll move from the top of the Championship to the bottom of the PL. That's always been tough as and it would be again. We've improved the squad and as a result our chance of survival, but it would still be tough. Success would be the promotion and the chance of survival whichever way it goes after that.

It doesn't come cheap.easy or quick. Fulham are putting up a new stand as part of a redevelopment which will increase capacity by 4000 but it is taking 2 years and costing £80m. What we really need is a new stadium off the bypass with a huge car park and good facilities for public transport but .........

A study about a decade ago put the price at £20m for 7000 seats. That's probably gone up a touch since then.

The club have fairly recently bought land behind the Geoffrey Watling and Barclay, the former being a requirement to expand that stand.

The issue with expanding the GW stand is all the facilities it houses (as well as what to do with the season ticket holders during the work. If it wasn't for the financial hit of CoVid, this year probably would have been a good time to start as those problems could have been managed more easily.
