It's strange, isn't it? In 2018-19, even when we went behind I always felt we would be able to come back at the last minute. This season I am nervous as hell even when we are winning even though our defensive record has been so much better.
Lethargic performance, squandered chances and two lucky goals: 3 points. They will need to up the anti against Brentford at CR. More roller coaster rides with NCFC.
I was thinking exactly the same. Maybe our profligacy in front of goal means we are saving up all the goals for the big boys.
It’s funny - squandered chances, yes - but I didn’t think it was lethargic actually, until the last fifteen minutes. Hanley looked knackered and totally flat-footed. They probably should have had a penalty - Krul a lucky guy, but otherwise the only clear chance was that hoof over the top where our centre backs just let it go over their heads and fortunately the Wycombe player miscontrolled. Some good performances though - Giannoulis, Aarons, McClean, Buendia (as ever), Pukki (as ever). Skipp also his usual diligent self. I thought Placheta worked hard when he came on and pleased to see Idah get a goal - I think he may have quite a big part to play next season, whichever league we are in.
One really reassuring aspect from today was the clean sheet again . They had 1 shot on target the entire game and Krul Handley Gibson and Skipp look like they're on a different level. Our wing backs spend most of the time In the opposition half and both are so quick they rarely get caught out . Bit wasteful today from our 19 shots but we scored 2 of the ugliest attempts and missed the sitters . Most importantly is @zogean_king and his 100 % run since getting in the saddle.
Wycombe 9 shots 1 on target Norwich 19 shots 5 on target Swansea let In 4 recently 3 yesterday, I don't think we have conceded more than 2 in a game all season . A question for the stats thread?
